Jorge Paixão
Jorge Manuel da Silva Paixão Santos (born 19 December 1965), known as Paixão, is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a striker, currently manager of Kuwaiti Division One club Al-Yarmouk SC. Playing career Born in Almada, Setúbal District, Paixão's 11-year professional career was almost entirely spent in the Portuguese second and third divisions, representing Amora FC (two spells), C.F. União de Coimbra, Louletano D.C. and GD Bragança. The exception to this was in the 1985–86 season, when he appeared three times as a substitute for Académica de Coimbra in the Primeira Liga. He retired in June 1995 at the age of 29, after a spell with amateurs Atlético Clube da Malveira. Coaching career Following retirement, Paixão moved into coaching. Almada () is a city and a municipality in Portugal, located on the southern margin of the Tagus River, on the opposite side of the river from Lisbon. The Primeira Liga (; English: Premier League, also written as Liga Portugal 1), also known as Liga Portugal Bwin for sponsorship reasons, is the top level of the Portuguese football league system. Organised and supervised by the Liga Portugal, it is contested by 18 teams since the 2014–15 season, with the three lowest placed teams relegated to the Liga Portugal 2 and replaced by the top-three non-reserve teams from this division. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. Substitutions were officially added to the Laws of the Game in 1958. Prior to this most games were played with no changes permitted at all, with occasional exceptions in cases of extreme injury or players not arriving to matches on time. ''Record'' is a Portuguese sports newspaper, founded by Manuel Dias, published in Lisbon. Although it covers most sports, football is the focal point of it, and almost always is the only sport referred to on the cover. History and profile ''Record'' was founded by Manuel Dias. The Kuwaiti Division One is a second-tier professional Kuwaiti football league. Winners of the league are promoted to the Kuwait Premier League.
