Jorge Castañeda Y Álvarez De La Rosa
Jorge Castañeda y Álvarez de la Rosa (1 October 1921 – 11 December 1997) was a Mexican diplomat. He served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs from April 1979 to 30 November 1982, during the administration of José López Portillo. He was the father of Jorge Castañeda Gutman, who later also served as Foreign Secretary from 2000 to 2003. Born in Mexico City, Castañeda y Álvarez studied law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), where he also later lectured, along with teaching positions at the Colegio de México and the Escuela Libre de Derecho. In addition to his term as foreign secretary, he also served as ambassador to France, Egypt, and the United Nations. Jorge Castañeda Gutman
Jorge Castañeda Gutman (born May 24, 1953) is a Mexican politician and academic who served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs (2000–2003). He also authored more than a dozen books, including a biography of Che Guevara, and he regularly contributes to newspapers such as ''Reforma'' (Mexico), ''El País'' (Spain), ''Los Angeles Times'' (USA) and ''Newsweek'' magazine. He was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2008. Early life and education Castañeda was born in Mexico City. His father was Jorge Castañeda y Álvarez de la Rosa who served as Secretary of Foreign Affairs (1979–1982), during the administration of José López Portillo. He received the French Baccalauréat from the Lycée Franco-Mexicain in Mexico City. Jorge Castañeda (footballer)
Jorge "Tote" Castañeda Reyes (born 12 January 1970) is a Mexican former professional footballer who played as a midfielder during his career. He was the captain of the Mexico national football team competing at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain. Club career In 1987, when he was eighteen, Castañeda signed with Club Atlas. He remained with Atlas until 1996. On 13 March 1997, Castañeda signed with the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. He returned to Mexico and finished his career with Cruz Azul, Cruz Azul Hidalgo, Tecos de UAG, Tigrillos and Lobos de la BUAP. Castañeda managed Atlas on an interim basis following Rubén Omar Romano's departure in September 2007.
