Jordan
Jordan, officially the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, is a country in the Southern Levant region of West Asia. Jordan is bordered by Syria to the north, Iraq to the east, Saudi Arabia to the south, and Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories to the west. The Jordan River, flowing into the Dead Sea, is located along the country's western border within the Jordan Rift Valley. Jordan has a small coastline along the Red Sea in its southwest, separated by the Gulf of Aqaba from Egypt. Amman is the country's capital and largest city, as well as the most populous city in the Levant. Inhabited by humans since the Paleolithic period, three kingdoms developed in Transjordan during the Iron Age: Ammon, Moab and Edom. In the third century BC, the Arab Nabataeans established their kingdom centered in Petra. The Greco-Roman period saw the establishment of several cities in Transjordan that comprised the Decapolis. The Parliament of Jordan ( ') is the bicameral Jordanian national assembly. Established by the 1952 Constitution, the legislature consists of two houses: the Senate ( ''Majlis Al-Aayan'') and the House of Representatives ( ''Majlis Al-Nuwaab''). The Senate has 69 members, all of whom are directly appointed by the king, while the House of Representatives has 138 elected members, with nine seats reserved for Christians, three are for Chechen and Circassian minorities, and fifteen for women. The Royal Anthem Of Jordan
The Royal National Anthem () is the national anthem of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The translated name literally means "Peace be upon the King of Jordan". ''As-salamu alaykum'' is the greeting in Arabic, therefore the name of the anthem can also be regarded as a Honors music, Royal Salute. History It was adopted in 1946. The lyrics were penned by Abdelmunim Rifai, ʿAbdul Munʿim Rifāʿī, and the music was composed by ʿAbdul Qādir Tanīr. The first version of the lyrics was very short, as it only contained the first stanza of the current version. Since then, the anthem has been expanded. The abridged version of the anthem is usually used, while the full version is reserved for special occasions. The composition is in F major on the musical scale. The prime minister of Jordan is the head of government of the Jordan, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The prime minister is appointed by the List of kings of Jordan, king of Jordan, who is then free to form his own Cabinet of Jordan, Cabinet. The Parliament of Jordan then approves the programs of the new government through a vote of confidence. There are no constitutional limits on a prime minister's term, and several of them served multiple non-consecutive terms. Jordanian Dinar
The Jordanian dinar (; ISO 4217, code: JOD; unofficially abbreviated as JD) has been the currency of Jordan since 1950. The dinar is divided into 100 qirsh (also called piastres) or 1000 fils (currency), fulus. Fils are effectively obsolete; however, monetary amounts are still written to three decimal places representing fils. It is pegged to the US dollar. The Central Bank of Jordan commenced operations in 1965 and became the sole issuer of Jordanian currency, in place of the Jordan Currency Board. The Jordanian dinar is also widely used in the West Bank alongside the Israeli new shekel, Israeli shekel. It revised the previous Constitution of 1947 to expand the powers of the legislature and add checks to the executive power of the cabinet.
