The band's most recent album “JSIC” was released August, 31st of 2018. The band's name is a reference to the book ''The Giver'' by Lois Lowry. History Formation and influences The name "Jonas Sees in Color" is a reference to Lois Lowry's 1993 Newbery Award-winning novel ''The Giver''. Singer Ryan Downing explains: "Our name is basically a metaphor. In ''The Giver'', the main character (Jonas) lives in a black and white world. When he is chosen to take on the responsibility of the hopes, thoughts, and feelings of his entire village, he finally begins to see in color. ''Jonas Sees in Color'' is the debut album by American rock band Jonas Sees in Color, released on September 29, 2009 by Glassnote Records. It was produced by Aaron Johnson at Candyland Studios in Denver, Colorado, the same studio used by The Fray to record their first two albums. The record was engineered by Warren Huart. Track listing B-sides While in the studio, Jonas Sees in Color recorded other songs which weren't put on the album. ''Give Me Mine'' is the second album by American rock band Jonas Sees in Color, released independently on April 16, 2013. Recorded on 2-inch reel-to-reel tape at Fidelitorium Recordings, the album is a departure from the band's previous material of pop rock to a more minimalist hard rock sound. The album was produced by Ted Comerford and mastered by Jamie King. Mixing and "gizmos and gadgets" are credited to Fidelitorium founder Mitch Easter, established musician and producer of artists such as R.E.M. and Ben Folds Five, among others. Musically, ''Give Me Mine'' is similar to 2012's ''Soul Food'' with its grungy, garage rock exterior based in early contemporary music styles such as rock and roll and soul. Charles Milles Manson (; November 12, 1934November 19, 2017) was an American criminal and musician who led the Manson Family, a cult based in California, in the late 1960s. Some of the members committed a series of nine murders at four locations in July and August 1969. Aaron Johnson (musician)
Aaron Howard Johnson (born February 8, 1977) is an American music producer. Aaron has produced and mixed many artists including Alpha Rev, Secondhand Serenade, Katie Herzig, Adam Jensen, and Eve6, but he is best known for producing hit albums for the Denver-based rock band the Fray. Life and career Johnson was born in Maryland but grew up in Southern California, attending college at the California Institute of the Arts. He lived in Denver, Colorado from 1999 to 2001, after which he moved to New York City. In 2008, Aaron returned to Southern California. Aaron got his start "hanging out" at a studio in So Cal while still in high school. It was there that he developed an interest in making and recording music.
