Jon Wright is a Northern Irish television and film director and screenwriter. Career Wright is known for directing the British low budget horror comedy ''Tormented (2009 British film), Tormented'' starring Alex Pettyfer and the Irish monster movie ''Grabbers''. He directed and co-wrote the science fiction adventure film ''Robot Overlords'' starring Ben Kingsley. The estimated budget was $21 million. The film began principal photography in Wales, the Isle of Man and Northern Ireland. Wright has also directed multiple episodes of television, for series such as ''Our Girl'', ''The Good Karma Hospital'' and ''Brassic''. Returning with Mark Stay, Wright co-wrote and directed ''Unwelcome (film), Unwelcome'', an fantasy (genre), fantasy horror film, released in January 2023. Jonathan Wright (30 January 1925 – 22 February 2015) was an English footballer who played as an inside forward in the Football League for Darlington. He made his debut on 1 March 1947, standing in for Charlie Stubbs at inside right in a 4–1 win against Rochdale, and made three more appearances towards the end of that season. He had a run of 11 matches at the end of the following season, and played his final first-team match in September 1948. He went on to play for North-Eastern League club Horden Colliery Welfare. Jon Wright (born 10 August 1962) is an English former professional snooker player. Career Jon Wright was born on 10 August 1962 in London. In 1984 he entered two WPBSA Pro Ticket events; he reached the final at Event One, losing 4–5 to David Roe, but won Event Two, defeating Roe 5–1. Wright twice represented England in the World Amateur Snooker Championship (1984 & 1985), reaching the semi-final in 1984. During this period he was a regular winner on the lucrative Pro-Am circuit and was known as a prolific break builder. He did not turn professional until 1986, but in his first season on the main tour, performed well, making a break of 123 - the highest of his career - in a 9–7 win over Martin Smith en route to the last-64 of the 1986 UK Championship. There, he lost 1–9 to the incumbent World Champion, Joe Johnson.
