Jon Blake (actor)
Paul Jonathan Blake (10 December 1958 – 30 May 2011) billed as Jon Blake and Sonny Blake, was an Australian actor who was primarily active in the 1980s. He appeared in several TV shows and films, including a leading role in Scott Hicks's '' Freedom'' (1982), before a car accident in 1986 left him severely disabled. Biography Blake was born Paul Jonathan Gleason in the Sydney suburb of Hornsby in 1958, an only child of parents who were classical musicians. His family moved back and forth between New Zealand and Australia before permanently settling in Sydney when he was ten. In his youth, Blake trained as a professional boxer and studied music at the Sydney Conservatorium. He also spent several years in student and experimental theatre groups and took private acting lessons while working as an usher at a city cinema complex. Jon Blake (born 1954 in Mortimer, Berkshire) is the author of over sixty works for children and teenagers. He was brought up in Southampton and has lived in Cardiff since 1987. His works include the picture book "You're A Hero, Daley B" (illustrated by Axel Scheffler, worldwide sales of over 200,000), as well as "Little Stupendo", which was shortlisted for the Red House Children's Book Award. In 1995, Jon's TV play 'Life' was shortlisted for a Writers Guild Award, while in 2002 he won a BBC Talent award for his adult radio sitcom "Degrees R Us", which was broadcast on BBC Radio Wales. In 2017 'Thimble Monkey Superstar', featuring a narrator with cerebral palsy based on Jon's son, was shortlisted for the Lollies (Laugh Out Loud awards). FIVEaa (pronounced ''Five Double A'') is Adelaide's only commercial talkback radio station. The station has a range of programs including news, sports, current affairs, social issues, football calls, gardening, lifestyle, cars, travel and health. It is owned by Nova Entertainment. History 5AA commenced service in Kent Town on 14 March 1976 on the frequency 1390 AM. It was moved to 1386 AM with the introduction of 9 kHz spacing on the AM dial in 1978. The station now broadcasts on 1395 AM. 5AA commenced its life with a "Beautiful Music" format and quickly became Adelaide's number-1-rated radio station. In 1976, the only FM competition was ABC Classic FM. AM stations were ABC Radio, 5DN and music stations 5KA and 5AD.
