John Tomlinson (bass)
Sir John Rowland Tomlinson (born 22 September 1946) is an English bass. Tomlinson was born in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, England. He trained as a civil engineer at Manchester University before deciding on a career in opera at age 21. He studied with Patrick McGuigan at the Royal Northern College of Music and with Otakar Kraus. He is now President of the RNCM. Whilst studying at the RNCM, he was a member of the Manchester Universities Gilbert and Sullivan Society (MUGSS). He sings regularly with the Royal Opera and English National Opera, and has appeared with all the major British opera companies. He sang at the Bayreuth Festival in Germany every year from 1988 to 2006, as Wotan, the Wanderer, King Marke, Titurel, Gurnemanz, Hagen and the Dutchman. In 2008, he created the title role in Harrison Birtwistle's opera ''The Minotaur'' at the Royal Opera House. John Tomlinson (cricketer)
John Derek Williams Tomlinson (26 March 1926 – 1 April 2010) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Derbyshire County Cricket Club in 1946. Tomlinson was born in South Normanton. He played several games for Derbyshire Club and Ground and the Derbyshire second XI before his first-class debut for Derbyshire in the 1946 season. His only first-class match was against Somerset in August 1946. He continued playing occasionally for the Club and Ground and Second XI in 1947 and 1948. The school's baseball facility, Tomlinson Stadium–Kell Field Tomlinson Stadium–Kell Field is a baseball venue located in Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States. It has been home to the Arkansas State Red Wolves college baseball team of the Division I Sun Belt Conference since 1993.

Jon Tomlinson (born 9 January 1973) is a British Formula One aerodynamicist, currently working in the position of Head of Aerodynamics at the Renault Sport Formula One Team, having previously worked for the Jordan, Lotus and Williams Formula One teams. Career After completing a BSc Industrial Design degree at Brunel University in 1995, he was appointed a Design Engineer role for Handford Racing Services Ltd, working on aerodynamic development of Newman-Haas Racing's Lola Indycars. In 1996, he became an Aerodynamicist for Swift Engineering Ltd. in California, developing the 1997 and 1998 race winning Swift Indycars.
