Much Wenlock (UK Parliament Constituency)
Much Wenlock is a market town and parish in Shropshire, England; it is situated on the A458 road between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth. Nearby, to the north-east, is the Ironbridge Gorge and Telford. The civil parish includes the villages of Homer ( north of the town), Wyke ( north-east), Atterley ( south-east), Stretton Westwood ( south-west) and Bourton ( south-west). The population of the civil parish, according to the 2001 Census, was 2,605, increasing to 2,877 by 2011. Notable historic attractions in the town are Wenlock Priory, Wenlock Edge, Holy Trinity Church and the Guildhall. The Wenlock Olympian Games, established by William Penny Brookes in 1850, are centred in the town. John Wilson "Jack" Poole, (April 14, 1933 – October 23, 2009) was a Canadian businessman who, as the head of the 2010 Winter Olympics bids, VANOC bid committee, was responsible for bringing the 2010 Winter Olympics to Canada. John Smith Poole (1892–1967) was an English footballer who played for Sunderland and Bradford City, who later became a trainer of the latter. He was born in Codnor. After retiring from playing he had a lengthy spell as manager of Mansfield Town. Career Poole played for Sutton United (Notts) and Sutton Junction before signing for Nottingham Forest, but he failed to break into their first team. John Arthur Frederick Poole (12 December 1932 – 17 November 2020) was an English football goalkeeper who made 33 league appearances for Port Vale in the Football League between 1953 and 1961. He later played for non-League sides Macclesfield Town and Werrington. Career John Poole was born in Stoke-on-Trent on 12 December 1932. After playing for numerous youth teams, including Ashley, Penkhull Youth Club, and Stoke City's youth team, Poole graduated through the Port Vale juniors to sign professional forms in September 1953. Anthony John John Poole, FRBS, Hon. FRBSA, (born Handsworth, Birmingham, 17 December 1926 – died Bishampton, Worcestershire, 2 September 2009) was a British freelance sculptor and winner of 2 Otto Beit medals. Early life Poole grew up in Hall Green, Birmingham, attending Hall Green Infants and Junior School, Stratford Road. At the age of 12 he gained a place at Moseley Road Junior School of Art, and went on to study Industrial Design at the Birmingham School of Art. At the age of 17, in the Studio of William Bloye, he learnt the art of letter carving in the style of Eric Gill. In December 1944, Poole was called up for service in the Coldstream Guards and the Parachute Regiment during World War II. As a lieutenant he served in France and in Germany as a liaison officer during the Nuremberg trials. He was subsequently recruited as an officer in the Parachute Regiment 7th (Light Infantry) Parachute Battalion, serving in Egypt and Palestine.

John Pool (June 16, 1826August 16, 1884) was a Republican U.S. Senator from the state of North Carolina between 1868 and 1873. He was also the uncle of Congressman Walter Freshwater Pool. He was born in Pasquotank County, North Carolina near Elizabeth City and was tutored at home until his attendance at the University of North Carolina, where he studied law. He graduated and was admitted to the bar in 1847, practicing in his home city until serving in the North Carolina Senate in 1856 and 1858. Pool ran against Gov. John W.
