John Moriarty (Attorney General)
John Francis Moriarty PC, QC (1855 – 2 May 1915) was an Irish lawyer and judge. Background and education Moriarty was born in Mallow, County Cork, the second son of John Moriarty, a successful solicitor of the town, and his wife Ellen O'Connell. He was educated at Stonyhurst College, where he and his brother Michael were classmates of Arthur Conan Doyle, and Trinity College Dublin. He entered Middle Temple in 1875, and was called to the Irish Bar in 1877. Family He married firstly Katherine Beatrice Kavanagh (1859–1898) and secondly Mabel Dolphin. By Katherine he had eight children: *Frances Caroline Joan Moriarty (1896–1933), who married in 1915, as his first wife, Kenneth Mackay, 2nd Earl of Inchcape, by whom she had four children, including Kenneth James William Mackay, 3rd Earl of Inchcape. John Moriarty (writer)
John Moriarty (2 February 1938 – 1 June 2007) was an Irish writer and philosopher. A native of Moyvane, County Kerry, he was educated in Listowel and at University College Dublin. In 1974, he moved to England from Canada where he had taught English literature at the University of Manitoba, and subsequently became a live-in gardener in the Carmelite monastery at Boars Hill, Oxford. Moriarty subsequently lived at the foot of Mangerton Mountain in County Kerry until his death. A film "inspired by the works" of Moriarty, ''Dreamtime, Revisited'', was directed by Dónal Ó Céilleachair and Julius Ziz and released in October 2012. John Kundereri Moriarty
John Kundereri "Jumbana" Moriarty (born ) is an Aboriginal Australian artist, government advisor and former soccer player. He is also known as founder of the Balarinji Design Studio, for painting two Qantas jets with Aboriginal motifs. Today a full member of the Yanyuwa people of his birthplace, and belonging ceremonially to the rainbow serpent and kangaroo Dreamings, Moriarty has held senior and executive positions in the Department of Aboriginal Affairs at both federal and state government levels. He is a long-time advocate for Indigenous rights and Indigenous arts. Early life and education Moriarty was born around 1938 in Borroloola in the Northern Territory of Australia, to a tribal Aboriginal woman, Kathleen (Morr-my-bina), and an Irishman from County Kerry, John Moriarty.
