John Mickel (racing Driver)
John Mickel (born 28 January 1971) is a British professional stock car racing driver and commentator. He has raced in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in the United States and the Pickup Truck Racing Series in the United Kingdom. He was also a commentator for Sky Sports' coverage of NASCAR racing in 2008 and 2009. Racing career Mickel, a second-generation driver, began racing at the age of ten in Ministox and won his first championship two years later. He soon moved to Superstox where he was named both World and European champion. He joined the Stock Car Speed Association, SCSA-Europe tour in its inaugural year in 2001, where he won the series' first championship. In 2002, Mickel began racing part-time in the United States in NASCAR. After failing to qualify for two races in the Craftsman Truck Series in the No. 09 for Midgley Racing, he began racing in the American Speed Association in 2004. John Mickel (politician)
Reginald John Mickel (born August 1953) is an Australian politician. He was the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland and the Labor member for Logan until the 2012 election. He was succeeded by Fiona Simpson as Speaker, as he did not contest the 2012 election. Early life Born in Murgon, Queensland, he went to school at St Laurence's College and later attended the University of Queensland where he studied literature and education. Political career In 1979, he joined the Labor Party and was an adviser to federal MP David Beddall. He was later a senior adviser to Queensland Premier Wayne Goss and to Health Minister (later Premier) Peter Beattie. In 1998, he was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Queensland as the Labor member for Logan. He was a minister in various portfolios from 2004 to 2009. John Mickel (rugby Union)
John Mickel is an American former international rugby union player. A scrum-half, Mickel captained the Los Angeles Rugby Club and gained selection in 1986 on the Pacific Coast Grizzlies touring side to Argentina, subsequently making his Eagles debut in a Test against Canada that year in Tucson.
