John F. McDonnell (born 1938) is an American businessman, engineer, and philanthropist. McDonnell served as the chairman of the McDonnell Douglas Corporation from 1988 until its merger with Boeing in 1997 and its chief executive officer from 1988 until 1994. He was a corporate director at Boeing from the 1997 merger until 2012, when he reached the Boeing-mandated retirement age of 74. Colonel John Ronald MacDonell, (4 March 1899 – 5 September 1944) was a British Army officer who served as acting General Officer Commanding 1st Armoured Division during the Second World War. Military career MacDonell was commissioned into the 9th Queen's Royal Lancers on 21 February 1920. He was appointed adjutant of the Shropshire Yeomanry on 11 November 1928. John Cotter Macdonnell (1821 – 9 September 1902) was Dean of Cashel from 1862 to 1873. Biography Macdonnell was educated at Trinity College, Dublin and was placed in the first class in the final divinity examination in 1846. Further studies saw him receive the Master of Arts (MA) in 1855, Bachelor of Divinity (BD) in 1856, and the Doctorate of Divinity (DD) in 1860. He was ordained deacon in 1846 and priest in 1847, and began his career as a Curate at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin. Captain John McDonell of Aberchalder (also spelled MacDonell; c. 1758-21 November 1809) was a soldier, judge, and political figure in Upper Canada following the American Revolution. He was elected as the first speaker for the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada. Early years John McDonell of Aberchalder was born at Aberchalder Lodge in Scotland, a son of Alexander MacDonell of Aberchalder. In 1773, he came to the Mohawk Valley of New York with his father and uncles. In 1775, during the American Revolution, McDonell was commissioned in the Royal Highland Emigrants. On 1 August 1778, he transferred to John Butler's Rangers. For a time, he served as paymaster at Fort Niagara. Johnny McDonnell (Gaelic Footballer)
John McDonnell was an Irish Gaelic footballer. His championship career at senior level with the Dublin county team spanned ten seasons from 1919 until 1934. McDonnell first played competitive football during a golden age for the O'Tooles club. In ten years from 1918 until 1928 he won nine county senior championship medals with the club before adding a tenth in 1931. Success at club level saw McDonnell join the Dublin senior team and he made his debut during the 1919 championship. Over the course of the next decade he had much success and won back-to-back All-Ireland medals in 1922 and 1923. He also won seven Leinster medals. His brother, Paddy McDonnell, was also an All-Ireland medal winner with Dublin. John McDonnell (born 26 March 1965 in Dublin) is an Irish football manager and former footballer. He most recently managed Drogheda United, having also managed Dublin City, St Patrick's Athletic, Newry City, Shelbourne and been assistant manager of the Faroe Islands. Nicknamed "Johnny Mac", he had a long career as a footballer before entering management. The majority of his career was spent at St Patrick's Athletic and he captained the side to the 1996 League of Ireland Championship.
