John Martin Cummins (born March 12, 1942) is a Canadian politician. He was the leader of the British Columbia Conservative Party from 2011 until resigning after the 2013 election. He was the Conservative Member of Parliament for the riding of Delta—Richmond East in British Columbia from 1993 until 2011, when he turned to provincial politics becoming the leader of the unaffiliated provincial party. Born in Georgetown, Ontario, he was first elected to the House of Commons in the 1993 election, as a Reform Party member. He was re-elected in 1997, 2000 (as a member of the Canadian Alliance), 2004, 2006, and 2008 (as a Conservative). John Cummins (born 1948) is an Irish Gaelic football manager and former player as a centre-forward at senior level for the Tipperary county team. Career Born in Ardfinnan, County Tipperary, Cummins arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of sixteen when he first linked up with the Tipperary minor team, before later joining the under-21 and junior sides. He made his senior debut in the 1969 championship. Cummins went on to play a key role for almost a decade; however, he experienced little in terms of silverware with Tipp. At club level Cummins won two championship medal with Ardfinnan. Cummins retired from inter-county football on following the conclusion of the 1978 championship. In retirement from playing, Cummins became involved in team management and coaching. John Cummins (born 29 June 1988) is an Irish Fine Gael politician who has served as a Senator for the Labour Panel since April 2020. Political career Cummins was elected to Waterford City Council in 2009. In 2010, he was elected as Chairman of the South East Regional Authority. He served his first term as Mayor of Waterford in 2013; at the age of 25, he was the youngest person ever to hold that office. He was subsequently re-elected to the amalgamated Waterford City and County Council in 2014, and served his second term as Mayor in 2015/16. He was re-elected in 2019. Cummins unsuccessfully contested the 2020 general election in the Waterford constituency. He was subsequently elected in the 2020 Seanad election as a Senator for the Labour Panel. John Cummins (1948 – 29 August 2006) was an Australian labour leader. From 1972 onwards, Cummins was involved with the Australian Building Construction Employees and Builders Labourers Federation, better known as the B.L.F. He was the last Victorian secretary of the BLF, and then became the Federal President of the new "super-union", the CFMEU. (Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union The Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union (CFMMEU, though most commonly still referred to as CFMEU) is Australia's main trade union in construction, forestry, maritime, mining, energy, textile, clothing and footwear produ ...). John Adams Kuakini Cummins (March 17, 1835 – March 21, 1913) was a member of the nobility of the Kingdom of Hawaii who became a wealthy businessman, and was involved in politics as the kingdom was overthrown. John Swete Cummins (c. 1811 – 1862) was a municipal politician and writer in 19th-century Canada. The son of Nicholas Marshall Cummins and Martha Swete, he was born in Cork and came to Canada in November 1836 as an agent of Lord Mount Cashel who owned land in Upper Canada near Delaware and on Amherst Island. Cummins was in charge of a militia company during the Upper Canada Rebellion; he was later put in charge of a militia company on Amherst Island. In 1840, he married Catherine Smith in Ireland. (born John Richbourg, August 20, 1910 - February 15, 1986) was an American radio disc jockey who attained fame in the 1950s and 1960s for playing rhythm and blues music on Nashville radio station WLAC. He was also a notable record producer and artist manager. Richbourg was arguably the most popular and charismatic of the four announcers at WLAC who showcased popular African-American music in nightly programs from the late 1940s to the early 1970s. (The other three were Gene Nobles, Herman Grizzard, and Bill "Hoss" Allen.)
