Joe Anderson (politician)
Joseph Anderson, (born 24 January 1958) is a British politician who served as the first directly elected Mayor of Liverpool from 2012 to 2021. A member of the Labour Party until his suspension in November 2020, he also served as Leader of Liverpool City Council from 2010 to 2012. Anderson was the leader of Liverpool City Council from the 2010 Council election until the 2012 Mayoral election. He was elected Mayor of Liverpool on 3 May 2012, winning with 57% of the vote. He won a second term in May 2016 with 52.6% of the vote. He was also on the board of directors at Liverpool Vision, an Urban Regeneration Company within the city. He represented Liverpool City Council as a member of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority. In December 2020, Anderson temporarily stood down as Liverpool mayor after being arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit bribery and witness intimidation. Joseph Anderson (born November 21, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. He was signed by the Chicago Bears after going undrafted in the 2012 NFL draft. He played college football at Louisiana Tech and Texas Southern. He was also a member of the Philadelphia Eagles, New York Jets and Montreal Alouettes. College career After graduating from Texas High School, Anderson attended Louisiana Tech University before transferring to Texas Southern, where he played for three years, playing in 34 games. He recorded 154 catches for 2010 yards and 13 touchdowns. Anderson also served as return specialist, returning 16 kickoffs for 289 yards. In his final season, Anderson caught 47 passes for 638 yards and four touchdowns, finishing sixth in the Southwestern Athletic Conference for receptions per game and ninth for receiving yards per game. Joseph Anderson (November 20, 1889 – March 13, 1992) was the secretary to the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1922 to 1970 and was a general authority of the church from 1970 until his death. Anderson was born in Salt Lake City, Utah Territory in 1889, the same year that Wilford Woodruff became President of the Church. Anderson graduated from the Weber Stake Academy (now Weber State University) in 1905. A few years later he served as a missionary in Germany and Switzerland. Anderson became secretary to the First Presidency of the church in 1922. On 6 April 1970, church president Joseph Fielding Smith released Anderson from his secretarial duties and called him to serve as an Assistant to the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Joseph Anderson LLD HRSA (1832–1916) was a Scottish antiquarian who served as keeper of the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland from 1869 to 1913. Life Anderson was born in Angus, the son of an agricultural labourer, grew up in St Vigeans and attended Arbroath Education Institution. He taught at the English School in Constantinople from 1856 to 1859. In 1860, after moving back to Scotland, he became editor of the ''John O'Groat'' journal. At this time he started to excavate in Caithness, in partnership with Robert Shearer. From 1869 to 1913, 44 years, he was the keeper of the National Museum of Antiquities of Scotland.
