Jittery Joe's
Jittery Joe's is a chain of coffeehouses based in Athens, Georgia. In 1994, the first Jittery Joe's opened in downtown Athens. There are nine locations in Athens and one in each of the Georgia cities of Watkinsville, Atlanta, Bethlehem, and St. Simons. Overview The inspiration for the name "Jittery Joe's" came from an episode of ''The Simpsons'' in which Marge visits a diner with that name (" Marge on the Lam," which first aired on November 4, 1993). The founders discovered that "Jittery Joe's" wasn't trademarked, so they adopted it as the brand label of their coffee company. Jittery Joe's expanded into the New York market in August 2009, opening a shop next door to the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM). Live At Jittery Joe's
''Live at Jittery Joe's'' is a live album released in 2001 by Jeff Mangum of Neutral Milk Hotel to combat the high prices of bootlegs on eBay. Filmmaker Lance Bangs recorded it at the Athens, GA venue Jittery Joe's on March 7, 1997, during a live solo performance; this location was the original Jittery Joe's at 243 W. Washington St., not one of the current locations. Jeff had not prepared a setlist, so some of the songs were chosen by the audience. A noisy child can be heard throughout the performance (most notably during "Oh Comely"). Most of the songs included on this album had studio versions on earlier Neutral Milk Hotel releases, except for a cover of Phil Spector's "I Love How You Love Me." This album contains a different, earlier version of "Two-Headed Boy, Pt. Two" than appears on '' In the Aeroplane Over the Sea''. Kishi Bashi
Kaoru Dill-Ishibashi (born November 4, 1975), who performs as Kishi Bashi, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and Emmy-nominated award winning filmmaker currently based in Athens, Georgia. He was a founding member of Jupiter One and, for a few years, was a member of the band of Montreal. He embarked on his career as a solo artist in 2011, releasing his debut album '' 151a'' at Joyful Noise Recordings in 2012 to immediate fanfare and critical acclaim. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on Road surface, paved roads. Kindercore Records
Kindercore Vinyl was a vinyl record pressing plant based in Athens, Georgia. It began as an independent record label, founded in 1996 in music, 1996 by Ryan Lewis and Daniel Geller to help create a unified Music of Athens, Georgia, music scene of Athens. After the dissolution of the record label, Lewis and Geller partnered with Cash Carter and Bill Fortenberry to revive Kindercore as a vinyl pressing plant. During its time in operation, Kindercore Vinyl was the only vinyl pressing plant in the state of Georgia. As of 2023, the plant operates as Classic City Vinyl Works under different ownership. Record label Kindercore Records began in the mid-1990s by musicians Lewis and Geller in response to the variety of musicians in Athens, but no unifying music culture.
