Jiban Sandhan
is a Japanese tokusatsu television series which serves as the 8th entry in the ''Metal Hero Series'' Metaseries, franchise, and the first entry in the Heisei period. Produced by Toei Animation, Toei and aired by TV Asahi in Japan from January 29, 1989, to January 28, 1990, it ran for 52 episodes and a feature movie released on July 15, 1989. According to Toei's International Sales & Promotion Department, the series' international English title is referred to as just simply ''Jiban''. The premise for the series combines elements from the American film ''RoboCop'' and the 1970s tokusatsu ''Robot Detective''. Plot Naoto Tamura, a new detective in Central City, is killed by a Bionoid Monster in the line of duty. Doctor Kenzo Igarashi, a man whose experiments had been responsible for the Bioron Crime syndicate, syndicate's existence, brought the man back to life as a cyborg detective, Jiban. is a Japanese Tokusatsu television series. It was Toei Company's fourteenth installment of the ''Super Sentai'' metaseries. It aired on TV Asahi from March 2, 1990, to February 8, 1991, with a total of 48 episodes replacing ''Kousoku Sentai Turboranger'' and was replaced by ''Chōjin Sentai Jetman''. The names given by Toei for international distribution are ''Fiveman'' or ''Sky Rangers''. It was released by Shout! Factory on Region 1 DVD on September 6, 2022, as part of Shout! Factory's new partnership with Hasbro. It originally was teased to be released in 2019. The Crime Syndicate or Crime Syndicate of America (CSA, with America sometimes spelled Amerika) is a team of supervillains featured in DC Comics.
