Jhonny Pereda
Jhonny Fernando Pereda (born April 18, 1996) is a Venezuelan professional baseball catcher for the Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He has previously played in MLB for the Miami Marlins. He made his MLB debut in 2024. Career Chicago Cubs On April 1, 2013, Pereda signed with the Chicago Cubs as an international free agent. He spent his first two professional seasons with the Venezuelan Summer League Cubs, hitting .221 across 122 games. Pereda spent the 2015 and 2016 seasons with the rookie–level Arizona League Cubs, batting .258 with two home runs and 24 RBI across 52 total games. In 2017, he played in 92 games for the Single–A South Bend Cubs, batting .249/.335/.290 with no home runs and 29 RBI. Pereda spent the 2018 season with the High–A Myrtle Beach Pelicans, playing in 122 games and hitting .272/.348/.363 with career–highs in home runs (8) and RBI (57). Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp
The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are a Minor League Baseball team of the International League (IL) and the Triple-A (baseball), Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. They are located in Jacksonville, Florida, and are named for shrimp caught in the area. The team plays their home games at VyStar Ballpark, which opened in 2003. They previously played at Sam W. Wolfson Baseball Park from 1962 until the end of the 2002 season. A team known as the Jacksonville Suns competed in the Triple-A International League from 1962 to 1968. The franchise was relocated to Norfolk, Virginia, as the Tidewater Tides in 1969. Hunter Greene (baseball)
Christian Hunter Greene (born August 6, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Cincinnati Reds of Major League Baseball (MLB). The Reds selected him second overall in the 2017 MLB Draft. Born in Los Angeles, California, Greene learned how to pitch at the Major League Baseball Urban Youth Academy in Compton. His fastball velocity was already during his first year at Notre Dame High School, and by the time he graduated in 2017, it was up to . The Reds drafted Greene out of high school, and he joined their farm system rather than playing college baseball. Greene suffered an ulnar collateral ligament injury partway through the 2018 season and underwent Tommy John surgery the following year.
