Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup
The Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup was an annual professional wrestling memorial show produced by Full Impact Pro (FIP) promotion, typically between October and December. The event was established to honor the memory of independent wrestler "All American" Jeff Peterson who died at age 21 after a two-year battle with leukemia. A rising star in the National Wrestling Alliance at the time of his death, his home promotion NWA Florida held a memorial tournament, co-hosted by IPW Hardcore, presented by his friends and fellow Florida wrestlers. The first show was held on May 16–17, 2003, at the Florida WrestlePlex in St. Petersburg, Florida. It is the longest-running tournament in the Southeastern United States followed by CWF Mid-Atlantic's Johnny Weaver Memorial Tournament. Full Impact Pro (FIP) is an American professional wrestling promotion. It is currently part of the World Wrestling Network (WWN) along with Shine Wrestling. Sal Hamaoui founded the company and serves as the president, while Trevin Adams is the vice president of FIP. FIP was founded in 2003 and has run the majority of their shows in Florida. The promotion was inactive from late 2011 until early 2013. They currently promote the FIP World Heavyweight Championship, FIP Tag Team Championship, and the FIP Florida Heritage Championship. The FIP World Heavyweight Championship is a professional wrestling world heavyweight championship held by the Full Impact Pro (FIP), a promotion owned by the World Wrestling Network. It is currently the highest ranked championship in FIP. History The title was introduced on September 25, 2004, at FIP's "Emergence: Part Two" event as the FIP Heavyweight Championship. It was renamed the FIP World Heavyweight Championship on March 3, 2007, when then-champion Roderick Strong defeated Pac in Liverpool, England, at the Ring of Honor (ROH) promotion's "Fifth Year Festival: Liverpool" event. Evolve (stylized all caps) was an United States of America, American professional wrestling promotion founded in 2010 by former Ring of Honor Professional wrestling terms#B, booker and Dragon Gate USA vice president, Gabe Sapolsky. Ronald Heard (December 21, 1948 – March 7, 2017) was an American professional wrestler, best known under the name "The Outlaw" Ron Bass.
