Jayam (2003 Film)
''Jayam'' () is a 2003 Indian Tamil-language romantic action film directed by M. Raja in his Tamil debut. The film is a remake of the 2002 Telugu-language film with the same title. It featured Raja's brother Ravi Mohan, Sadha and Gopichand in their first Tamil ventures respectively, with the latter two reprising their roles from the Telugu movie alongside an ensemble supporting cast including Rajeev, Pragathi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Radha Ravi, Nalini, Senthil, and Suman Setty. The music was composed by R. P. Patnaik. The film released on 21 June 2003 to mixed reviews but was a sleeper hit. The success prompted Ravi to retain the film's title as a prefix to his stage name and changed in 2025. Till date, ''Jayam'' is the first and only Tamil film which Gopichand has acted. Mohan Raja is an Indian film director and screenwriter who primarily works in Tamil and Telugu film industries. After making his debut in the Telugu film '' Hanuman Junction'' (2001), he went on to remake several successful Telugu films into Tamil, beginning with '' Jayam'' (2003) which also launched his brother Ravi as a leading actor. Pandurangan knows as P. Pandu (19 February 1947 – 6 May 2021) was an Indian Tamil actor and graphic designer who appeared in many comedy roles in Tamil cinema. He made his acting debut in the film ''Maanavan'' (1970). A Doctor of Philosophy graduate in arts from France, he was also a visual artist who founded Capital Letters, a graphic designing company. He most notably designed the party symbol and logo of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. His brother Idichapuli Selvaraj had also previously appeared in films as a comedian. Vennira Aadai Moorthy (born 25 July 1936) is an Indian actor and comedian in Tamil cinema. He has starred in many Tamil films and television serials as a comedian and also played supporting roles. Raghu Balaiah (28 June 1953 – 2 November 2023), popularly known as Junior Balaiah, was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films. The son of actor T. S. Balaiah, he primarily featured in supporting roles throughout his career, which stretched over 40 years.
