Love City Groove
Love City Groove were a musical group who represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995, with their self-titled song after being the winner in a public vote. The song finished tenth with 76 points; and peaked at No. 7 on the UK Singles Chart. The band Beginnings Love City Groove were formed by the producer and songwriter Stephen "Beanz" Rudden, who at the time was a staff writer at Warner Chappell Music. Rudden had worked with fellow Warner Chappell writer Tatiana Mais, also known as "Q-Tee", producing one of her songs, and requested that she rap over a song he had written, called "Sentence of Love". Q-Tee, believing that a male rapper was also needed, arrived at the studio with Jay Williams, a student at the BRIT School for Performing Arts & Technology. The Broken Family Band
The Broken Family Band was a British rock band from Cambridge and London. The band was formed in Cambridge, England by Steven Adams, Jay Williams, Micky Roman and Gavin Johnson in 2001, following the break-up of Adams and Williams' indie rock band Hofman. Their musical style has variously been referred to as alt country, country rock, new wave, and indie-rock (the latter term being favoured by the band). Career Originally formed "for fun" and to play irregular shows at their local pub and record one album, the band were encouraged by friends to perform support slots in London. Jason David Williams (born September 10, 1981) is an American former basketball player and television analyst. He played college basketball for the Duke Blue Devils and professionally for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA. Then known as Jason Williams, he won the 2001 NCAA Championship with Duke, and was named NABC Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. He was drafted second overall in the 2002 NBA draft by the Bulls. He was known as Jay on joining the Bulls to avoid confusion with two other players with similar names in the NBA at the time. His playing career was effectively ended by a motorcycle crash in 2003. He last played with the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League in 2006 when his season was ended early due to lingering physical effects from his accident. Jay Williams (born 4 October 2000) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back and defensive midfielder for club Milton Keynes Dons. Club career Williams joined Northampton Town at the age of 13. He made his first-team debut in their EFL Trophy tie against Wycombe Wanderers, featuring for the entire 90 minutes. He made his league debut in a 5–0 away win to Macclesfield Town coming off of the bench to replace Sam Foley in the 73rd minute. He went on to play a vital part in the rest of that season racking up 14 appearances in total. In November 2020, Williams signed for National League North club Kettering Town. On 7 January 2021, Williams signed for League Two side Harrogate Town. Jay Williams (May 31, 1914 – July 12, 1978) was an American author of science fiction (often for children), fantasy, historical fiction, non-fiction, and radical theatre. Early life Williams was born in Buffalo, New York, the son of Max and Lillian Jacobson. He cited the experience of growing up as the son of a vaudeville show producer as leading him to pursue his acting career as early as college. He attended both the University of Pennsylvania (1932–33) and Columbia University (1934), participating in amateur theatrical productions. Jay P. Williams (September 23, 1872 – July 4, 1938) was an American sailor serving in the United States Navy during the Boxer Rebellion. He received the Medal of Honor for bravery. Biography Williams was born September 23, 1872, in Orland, Indiana, and after entering the navy he was sent as an Coxswain to China to fight in the Boxer Rebellion. He died July 4, 1938, and is buried in Woodlawn Cemetery Norwalk, Ohio. His grave can be found in section 9, Ave A to Ave B, row 2, grave 41. Roy Kojo Jawara "Jay" Williams (born September 26, 1971) is a United States politician who served as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development from 2014 to 2017. Previously, he served as the executive director of the federal Office of Recovery for Auto Communities and Workers and as Mayor of Youngstown, Ohio. Since July 17, 2017, he has served as the President of The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Early life Williams was born and raised on Youngstown's east side. After earning a degree in finance at Youngstown State University, he reportedly turned down job offers from around the country and remained in Youngstown, where he worked with area banks.
