Jay Kim
Jay Chang Joon Kim (; born March 27, 1939) is a Korean- American politician and former member of the U.S. House of Representatives from California. He was the first Korean American to be elected to the United States Congress. Early life, education, and business career Jay Kim was born in 1939 in Keijō, Korea, Empire of Japan (now Seoul, South Korea). His Korean name, Kim Chang Joon, roughly translates to "golden splendid law." During the Korean War, his home was destroyed. He immigrated to the United States in 1961. After attending a community college, Kim transferred to the University of Southern California, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering. He later earned a doctorate in political science from Hanyang University. In 1976, Kim started JAYKIM Engineers, a firm that specializes in designing highways and water reclamation projects. Kim Jung-ju
Kim Jung-ju (; 22 February 1968 – 28 February 2022), also known as Jay Kim, was a South Korean businessman, investor, and founder of Korea's largest gaming company, Nexon. He was the chairman and CEO of NXC Corporation, the holding company of Nexon, and a partner at Collaborative Fund, a New York-based venture capital firm. Kim died on 28 February 2022 at the age of 54, while travelling in Hawaii. At the time of his death, he was the third-wealthiest person in South Korea. Early life and education Kim was born in Seoul on 22 February 1968. He held a B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from Seoul National University and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he taught as adjunct professor in 2011.
