Jason Phillips (wide Receiver)
Jason Howell Phillips (born October 11, 1966) is an American gridiron football, football coach and former player who is the wide receivers coach for the Colorado Buffaloes of the Big 12 Conference. He played professionally as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL) for the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons. He played college football for the Houston Cougars football, Houston Cougars, earning College Football All-America Team, All-American honors in 1988. Early life Phillips attended Sterling High School (Houston), Ross Sterling High School, where he received All-District and All-Greater Houston honors as a senior quarterback. After high school he joined Taft Junior College, receiving All-Conference honors as a freshman quarterback. He was converted into a wide receiver as a sophomore. Colorado Buffaloes Football
The Colorado Buffaloes football program represents the University of Colorado Boulder in college football at the NCAA Division I FBS level, and is a member of the Big 12 Conference. The team was a charter member of the Big 12 before leaving to join the Pac-12 Conference after the 2010 season. After 13 seasons in the Pac-12, the Buffaloes returned to the Big 12 in 2024. The Colorado Buffaloes are the athletic teams that represent the University of Colorado Boulder. The university sponsors 16 varsity sports teams. A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Scoring a touchdown grants the team that scored it 6 points. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the football into the opponent's end zone. Reception (American Football)
In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from their team's quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. In most cases, after making the catch, the receiver will then proceed to run towards the opposing end zone carrying the ball and try to score a touchdown, unless the play ends due to him being downed or forced out of bounds. Southwest Conference
The Southwest Conference (SWC) was an NCAA Division I college athletic conference in the United States that existed from 1914 to 1996. Composed primarily of schools from Texas, at various times the conference also included schools from Oklahoma and Arkansas. For most of its history, the core members of the conference were Texas-based schools plus one in Arkansas: Baylor University, Rice University, Southern Methodist University, University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, University of Houston, and the University of Arkansas.
