A former world No. 1, Janković reached the top ranking before her career-best major performance, a runner-up finish at the 2008 US Open. Vladeta Janković ( sr-Cyrl, Владета Јанковић; born 1 September 1940) is a Serbian politician. A former member of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), Janković previously served as the Yugoslav ambassador to the United Kingdom from 2001 to 2004 and the Serbian ambassador to the Holy See from 2008 to 2012. Janković left DSS in 2014 after its former president, Vojislav Koštunica, announced that he was leaving the party, leading Janković to retire from politics. His eight-year break from politics ended in January 2022 when the United Serbia (US) opposition coalition named Janković as their ballot carrier and candidate for Mayor of Belgrade at the City Assembly election. Stojan Janković Mitrović ( sr-cyr, Стојан Јанковић Митровић; also known as ''Stoian Jancovich Mitrovich'', ''Stoian Mitrovich'', ''Stoiano Mitrovich''; about 1636 – 23 August 1687) was the commander of the Morlach troops in the service of the Republic of Venice, from 1669 until his death in 1687. Kenjo Stankov Janković ( Serbian cyrillic: Кењо Станков Јанковић; 1797 in Ceklin – 12 May 1861 in Ceklin) was a Montenegrin warrior and military leader. Janković is most notable for leading a small band of Montenegrin rebels which captured the Ottoman-occupied town of Žabljak Crnojevića on two occasions, in 1835 and 1852. Janko Janković (born 14 January 1963) is a Croatian retired footballer who played as a forward. Club career Janković was born in Split, Croatia, Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. After playing in his country with NK Solin, HNK Hajduk Split (only two matches in one full season), RNK Split and HNK Rijeka, the 25-year-old moved to Spain, where he would remain for nearly one full decade until his retirement. Božidar "Božo" Janković (Serbian Cyrillic: Божидар "Божо" Јанковић; 22 May 1951 – 1 October 1993) was a Yugoslav professional footballer who played as a forward. Club career Sometimes also referred to by another nickname Boško, Janković grew up in Sarajevo where he began playing football in FK Željezničar youth system. He signed a professional contract at the age of 17 after passing through every age level at the club, making his First League debut during 1968–69 season.
