Jan Košek
Jan Košek (28 July 1884 – 30 December 1927) was a Czech Association football, footballer who played as a Striker (association football), striker. Jan Košek has 1000+ goals in 300+ games, winning back-to back Charity Cups between 1910 and 1912, a Silver Cup and the 1911 UIAFA European Football Tournament, European Amateur Championship. Early life Jan Košek was born on 28 July 1884 in Turnov. His father was Jan Baptista Košek and his mother was Františka Košek, originally Peldova. They raised five children, and only Jan lived to adulthood. Jan had three sisters and a brother and the family owned two houses, numbers 31 and 40 on Hrusticka street. He spent his childhood in Turnov, where he attended his local school. In the middle of 1895, his father came to the decision to move to Prague, where Jan went to study. Turnov
Turnov (; german: Turnau) is a town in Semily District in the Liberec Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 14,000 inhabitants. Hugo Meisl
Hugo Meisl (16 November 1881 – 17 February 1937), brother of the journalist Willy Meisl, was the multi-lingual football coach of the famous Austrian 'Wunderteam' of the early 1930s, as well as a referee. Background Meisl was born to a Jewish family in Bohemia, starting out as a bank clerk after moving to Vienna in 1895 but soon developed an interest in football, playing as a winger for the Vienna Cricket and Football-Club. In his early 30s, following a short playing career, he found employment as an administrator with the Austrian Football Association, rising to the position of General Secretary. In the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm, Meisl appeared as a match referee. He had previously refereed the first international match between Hungary and England on 10 June 1908. FK Viktoria Žižkov
FK Viktoria Žižkov is one of the oldest football clubs in the Czech Republic, from Žižkov (since 1922 part of Prague). It plays in the Bohemian Football League, the third tier of football in the country. The club won the Czechoslovak First League title in the 1927–28 season. Stephen Bloomer
Stephen Bloomer (20 January 1874 – 16 April 1938) was an England international footballer and manager who played for Derby County – becoming their record goalscorer – and Middlesbrough. The anthem "Steve Bloomer's Watchin'" is played at every Derby home game and there is a bust of him at the Pride Park Stadium. He is also listed in the Football League 100 Legends and English Football Hall of Fame. During his career, Bloomer was a prolific goalscorer for both club and country. A quick thinking forward, he was able to shoot powerfully and accurately with either foot and his speciality was the ''daisy cutter'' – a low shot, hit with great power, speed and accuracy. Josef Bělka
Josef Bělka (20 February 1886 – 14 March 1944) was a Czech footballer who played as a forward. Throughout his career at Slavia Prague, Josef played 428 games and scored 422 goals. Club career Bělka began his career at Sparta Prague, playing for the club for two seasons, before joining rivals Slavia Prague in 1907. On 13 October 1907, in his first game against his old club, Bělka scored twice for Slavia in a 2–2 draw against Sparta Prague. Just over a month later, on 24 November 1907, Bělka scored five times for Slavia in a 9–1 derby win away to Sparta Prague. Despite his good early form at Slavia Prague, Bělka could not displace striker Jan Košek and on 31 December 1909, Bělka requested a transfer back to Sparta Prague. Budapesti Torna Club was a Hungarian sports club in Budapest and the first football club in the country. Its football team were the winners of the first two seasons of Nemzeti Bajnokság I, in 1901 and 1902. History The club was founded on January 21, 1897.
