Jamil Ahmed
Jamil Ahmed (1928-1997) was a Pakistani politician, agriculturist and the longest-serving Mayor of Hyderabad, in office from 1962 to 1971, having won the mayoral elections twice consecutively. He also remained President of the Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce (HYDCCI). He was father of senior bureaucrat Rizwan Ahmed and artist Sumaira Tazeen. Jamil Ahmed left behind a respected legacy as the Mayor of Hyderabad. His son, Rizwan Ahmed, also served Hyderabad District as a Deputy Commissioner/District Collector. Rizwan Ahmed () is a former grade 22 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service who served at the highest civil service office of Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan. He is currently a Member of Sindh Public Service Commission for a four-year term. Rizwan did his two-year Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and holds the rare distinction of having served as the chief executive of four state-owned organisations under the Government of Pakistan, the most by any individual in history at the federal level. Sumaira Tazeen (Urdu: سمیرا تزین) is a Canada-based Pakistani artist who specializes in contemporary miniature art. A gold medalist from National College of Arts, Tazeen has presented her work to various influential personalities around the world including Queen Elizabeth II (1997), Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf (2006) and Queen Rania of Jordan. Hyderabad District ( ), is a district of Sindh, Pakistan. Its capital is the city of Hyderabad. The district is the second most urbanized in Sindh, after Karachi, with 80% of its population residing in urban areas. History The East India Company occupied Sindh in 1843. They formed three districts in Sindh administratively: Hyderabad, Karachi and Shikarpur. In 1901, a new taluka named Nasrat was created from Sakrand and Shahdadpur talukas. In 1912, the northern side of the district separated to form Nawabshah district. In 1975, the southern side also separated to form Badin district. Muhajir People
The Muhajir people (also spelled Mohajir and Mahajir) () are a multi-origin ethnic group of Pakistan. They are the Muslim immigrants of various ethnic groups and regional origins, who migrated from various regions of India after the 1947 independence to settle in the newly independent state of Pakistan, and their descendants. A significant population of the community settled in Karachi and other major urban centres of Pakistan. The total population of Muhajrs worldwide is estimated to be around 15 million, and the overwhelming majority of this figure (14.7 million) is located in Pakistan, according to the 2017 Pakistani census.
