Jamaica national basketball team is governed by the Jamaica Basketball Association. The team had its best performance at the 2013 FIBA Americas Championship where it beat the two former world champions Brazil and Argentina. Outlook The team finished in seventh place in the 2006 Centrobasket with a 1-4 record. The lone victory was a 100-57 win over Costa Rica. In the 2010 Centrobasket, led by Roy Hibbert, they finished in fifth place with a record of 2–2. The 2012 Centrobasket saw them win their first medal (bronze). FIBA AmeriCup
The FIBA AmeriCup (previously known as the FIBA Americas Championship) is the Americas Basketball Championship that takes place every four years between national teams of the Western Hemisphere continents. Since FIBA organized the entire Western Hemisphere west of the Atlantic Ocean under one zone, countries from North America, Central America, the Caribbean and South America compete in this tournament. Through the 2015 edition, the Americas Championship took place every two years, and was also a qualifying tournament for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, FIBA World Cup and the Basketball at the Summer Olympics, Summer Olympic Games. Rumeal James Robinson (born November 13, 1966) is a Jamaican-American former professional basketball player and convicted felon.
