''Jag kommer hem igen till jul'' is a Christmas album by Peter Jöback, released on 18 November 2002, consisting of both classic and modern Christmas songs. On the album charts, it topped in Sweden by late 2002. In late 2003, it reentered the charts including a new single, " Gå inte förbi", a duet with Norwegian singer Sissel Kyrkjebø. The album also peaked number four on the Norwegian Albums Chart. The album sold more than 600 000 copies. The album was rereleased for the 10th anniversary in 2012. Recording The album was recorded in August 2002 on Rommarö, during late summer heat. Outside, temperatures hit + 30 °C. Inside the studio, candles were lit to create Christmas spirit. Between recordings, Peter Jöback and the musicians went outside to bath in the water. "''Jul, jul, strålande jul''" is a Christmas song with lyrics written by Edvard Evers and music composed by Gustaf Nordqvist. It was published in 1921. The song has been subject to many interpretations in Sweden, other Scandinavian countries and internationally by singers, choirs and orchestras. It was first published by music publisher Abraham Lundquist AB. The song was one of the most common Christmas carols in Sweden during the 20th century. "O Holy Night" (original title: ) is a well-known sacred song for Christmas performance. Originally based on a French-language poem by poet Placide Cappeau, written in 1843, with the first line (Midnight, Christian, is the solemn hour) that composer Adolphe Adam set to music in 1847. "God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen" is an English traditional Christmas carol. It is in the Roxburghe Collection (iii. 452), and is listed as no. 394 in the Roud Folk Song Index. It is also known as "Tidings of Comfort and Joy", and by other variant incipits. History An early version of this carol is found in an anonymous manuscript, dating from the 1650s..
