Jackson Station (CTA Red Line)
Jackson is an "L" station on the CTA's Red Line in the Loop. Free transfers to Blue Line trains are available at this station via a lower level transfer tunnel to the Jackson station in the Milwaukee–Dearborn subway and farecard transfers to Purple, Orange, Brown and Pink Line trains are available via the Loop Elevated station. Like the station, the northern extension of which was reconfigured as the station, Jackson was originally double-length, with a third station mezzanine at Van Buren Street and Congress Parkway. State Street is a large south-north street, also one of the main streets, in Chicago, Illinois, USA and its south suburbs. Milwaukee–Dearborn Subway
The Milwaukee–Dearborn subway is an underground section of the Chicago "L" system in The Loop, Chicago, Illinois. It is long and forms the central part of the Blue Line. As of February 2013, the subway serves an average of 44,584 passengers each weekday. Since the subway is served by the Blue Line, it is open to passengers 24 hours a day and 365 days a year. History The Milwaukee–Dearborn subway project was funded by ''New Deal'' programs established by Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Great Depression. The Pink Line is an rapid transit line in Chicago, run by the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) as part of the Chicago "L" system. It is the CTA's newest rail line and began operation for a 180-day trial period on June 25, 2006, running between 54th/Cermak station in Cicero, Illinois and the Loop in downtown Chicago. As the line enters downtown Chicago, it begins to share tracks with Green Line trains on Lake Street. This connection is handled by the previously non-revenue Paulina Connector set of tracks.
