Jackie Wright
John Wright (24 September 1904 – 11 January 1989), credited professionally as Jackie Wright, also nicknamed Little Jackie and Uncle Jackie, was a Northern Irish comedian. He is best known for being the bald-headed sidekick of Benny Hill on his television programme for fifteen years. Wright's diminutive stature – he was only tall – and Northern Irish accent became assets to the comedy. Biography Born in Belfast, the eighth of twelve children born to George and Agnes ( Finlay) Wright, Jackie first worked as a car body assembler, even working in the United States for Cadillac. In the early 1930s, when the Great Depression took hold, Wright returned to Belfast and then began working in the field of entertainment, first as a musician and then as a supporting comedian. Jackie Wright (footballer)
John Wright (11 August 1926 – 22 June 2005) was an English professional footballer who played as a defender – specifically, a full back. He spent eleven years with Blackpool in the 1940s and 1950s, making 157 league appearances and scoring one goal. He made his debut for Blackpool, who were then managed by Joe Smith, on 6 September 1948, in a 1–1 draw with Derby County at Bloomfield Road. He went on to make a further five appearances during the 1948–49 league campaign, deputising for Ron Suart. Wright made fourteen league appearances in 1949–50, during which season Suart left for Blackburn Rovers. In 1950–51, Wright made twelve league appearances, but sat out Blackpool's entire run to their second FA Cup Final. The following season, 1951–52, he made fifteen appearances, before missing the whole 1952–53 term. Jacky Wright is a Senior Partner and Chief Technology and Platform Officer of McKinsey & Company. Biography Jacky Wright was born in London to Jamaican parents and grew up there in Tottenham. Her family moved to the US when she was a teenager as her father, who had worked for the Royal Air Force in the UK, believed the US provided better opportunities and role models for black people at that time. She has spent much of her career in the United States. Wright worked at BP, General Electric, and Andersen Consulting before taking up her career at Microsoft. She served as corporate vice president for core platform engineering at Microsoft before joining HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) on a two-year "loan arrangement" in 2017.
