Jack Thompson (ice Hockey)
Jack Thompson (born March 19, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player for the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career On October 7, 2020, the Tampa Bay Lightning selected Thompson with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2020–21 OHL season, Thompson was loaned to Surahammars IF of Sweden's Division 1. Thompson went there while waiting for the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) season to resume due to the COVID-19 pause. The OHL subsequently decide to cancel the season. On May 18, 2021, the Tampa Bay Lightning signed Thompson to a three-year, entry-level contract. Thompson had appeared in 18 games with Surahammars IF the prior season, recording nine goals and nine assists for 18 points. Syracuse Crunch
The Syracuse Crunch are a professional ice hockey team based in Syracuse, New York. They are the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the National Hockey League's Tampa Bay Lightning. They play in they home games at the Upstate Medical University Arena. History Vancouver and Pittsburgh affiliations (1994–2000) The franchise originated in 1992 as the Hamilton Canucks, which was an affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks played in Hamilton, Ontario, for two seasons, before relocating to upstate New York in 1994. They were then renamed the "Crunch" from a public vote that included five names. TD Garden

2020–21 AHL Season
The 2020–21 AHL season was the 85th season of the American Hockey League. Due to the ongoing restrictions in the COVID-19 pandemic, the start of the regular season was pushed back to February 5, 2021, and the league's playoff tournament championship Calder Cup was not awarded for the second consecutive season. The AHL's regular-season Macgregor Kilpatrick Trophy would become the league's primary trophy, which was the Hershey Bears's eighth regular-season championship. This was the first season under Scott Howson as the league's president after David Andrews announced his retirement after 26 years in the position. 2018–19 USHL Season
The 2018–19 USHL season was the 40th season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season ran from September 27, 2018, to April 13, 2019. The Tri-City Storm were awarded the Anderson Cup as regular season champions for accumulating 95 points over 62 games. The season concluded with the Sioux Falls Stampede defeating the Chicago Steel in the Clark Cup Final series 3–0 on May 17, 2019. A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short handed, short-handed as opposed to full strength. In ice hockey, a goal is scored when the puck entirely crosses the goal line between the two goal posts and below the goal crossbar.
