Career Smith joined Port Vale F.C., Burslem Port Vale in June 1892 and made his debut at left-half in a 4–0 defeat at Sheffield United F.C., Sheffield United on 17 December 1892. He was a regular in the side from September 1893, but his career ground to halt on New Years Day 1894 as he injured an ankle in a 3–1 defeat at Middlesbrough Ironopolis F.C., Middlesbrough Ironopolis. Jack Thomas Smith (May 24, 1923 – October 17, 2001) was an American stock car racer. He raced in the first NASCAR race, in 1949, and is a member of the NMPA Hall of Fame in Darlington, South Carolina. Biography Smith was born in Metropolis, Illinois and then moved to Georgia when he was two years old, settling in Roswell, Georgia. Jack got his start in the automotive industry by working in his fathers shop at a young age. Jack worked at a service station in the 1940's near Roswell. He began racing against local bootleggers on rough dirt tracks and asphalt superspeedways, and across fields. He began racing in 1947 after building a car. He made his debut in NASCAR's first race, in 1949 at the Charlotte Speedway, and finished 13th. Jack Dalziel Smith (born 19 June 1991) in Stockton-on-Tees is a British wheelchair rugby athlete and member of the Great Britain national wheelchair rugby team where the team won the final on 29 August 2021 and received gold medals. He was chosen to represent Great Britain at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Tokyo. Biography In 2008, at age 16, Jack was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma. A few weeks after this diagnosis, while playing rugby for Billingham RUFC he was injured in a ruck incident. Jack sustained a fracture-dislocation of several vertebrae and spinal cord compression, which resulted in paralysis from the chest down. He had spinal surgery at North Tees Hospital and spent three months' rehab at James Cook University Hospital spinal unit. The Detroit Tigers replacement players represented the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB) in a May 18, 1912 game against the Philadelphia Athletics. On May 15, 1912, after a game against the New York Yankees in New York, Tigers star Ty Cobb was taunted by a fan named Claude Lueker. According to several accounts, Lueker triggered Cobb's anger by calling him "a half nigger". According to another version, Lueker also yelled at Cobb, "your sisters screw niggers" and "your mother is a whore." Cobb leapt into the stands where he assaulted Lueker. Lueker was unable to defend himself, having lost one hand and three fingers from the other hand in an industrial accident. The native of Pikeville, Kentucky, was a right-handed pitcher who worked in 34 Major League Baseball (MLB) games (all in relief) for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Milwaukee Braves between 1962 and 1964. He was listed as tall and . Smith signed with the Dodgers in 1955 and rose slowly through their farm system until 1961, when he led the Double-A Southern Association in earned run average (2.09). The following season, he won 17 of 24 decisions in the Triple-A American Association and was named the league's Most Valuable Player.
