Irish Senior Cup (cricket)
The Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the Bulters Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup is a 50-over cricket competition for Irish amateur clubs. It is the most important knock-out cricket club competition in Ireland, is organised by Cricket Ireland and comprises the top teams from each of Ireland's four active provincial unions (Leinster, Munster, NCU and North West). Connacht Cricket Union, the youngest, smallest and weakest provincial union, do not enter teams in their own right, but County Galway CC enters as a member club in Munster. Sponsorship It was sponsored initially by Schweppes and then Royal Liver, RSA, Clear Currency and the current sponsor is Butlers. It was renamed in honour of Bob Kerr, who died at the 2007 Cricket World Cup. Malahide Cricket Club was founded in 1861 and is situated within Malahide Castle demesne, near the railway station. The club has over 400 members and is open all year round. The club currently fields 20 teams (5 Senior Men's, 2 Ladies, Development XI, 12 youth and a Taverners side). The North of Ireland Cricket Club (often referred to simply as North or by the abbreviation N.I.C.C. was a cricket club in Belfast, Northern Ireland. At the end of the 2001 season, the club, along with its sister rugby club, merged with Collegians R.F.C., Collegians Hockey Club and the Belfast Bowling Club to form Belfast Harlequins, based at Deramore. Leinster Cricket Club is an Irish cricket club which was founded in Rathgar in 1852. The Dublin sports club now hosts tennis, squash, table tennis, bowls and cricket. The Leinster Sports Club complex is situated in the Observatory Lane ground, in the heart of Rathmines. The cricket section currently has eight men's teams, three women's sides and fifteen youth sides. Brigade Cricket Club is a Northern Irish cricket club in the Waterside area of Derry, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. They play in North West Senior Premiership. They were founded in 1909. History Brigade Cricket Club was founded in 1909 and originally known as Church Lads' Brigade. The club adopted its current name in 1923. The club's first ground was at the Brandywell Stadium, and moved to its current ground of Beechgrove in 1921, having played for a year in 1920 in Black's Field, Glendermott Road, Waterside. Merrion Cricket Club is a cricket club in Dublin, Ireland, playing in Division 1 of the Leinster Senior League. The club was established as Merrion Wanderers and then Land Commission in 1879, moving to its present ground in 1906. Until 1919, membership of the club was restricted to civil servants.
