Iwo Gall
Iwo Gall (born 1 April 1890 in Krakow; died 12 February 1959) was a Polish theater director, stage designer and pedagogue. Biography He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, then studied in Berlin and Vienna, where during World War I he worked with the Polish theater. After the war he worked at the Teatrze im. Juliusza Słowackiego w Krakowie, and then collaborated with Juliusz Osterwa's "''Reduta'' " (mainly as a stage designer). He was the director of the Chamber Theater in Czestochowa (1932-1935). Scenic design (also known as scenography, stage design, or set design) is the creation of theatrical, as well as film or television scenery. The Academy of Fine Art in Łódź is a public university in Łódź for artists. Created in 1945, it was one of seven academies of Fine Arts in Poland. Juliusz Osterwa
Juliusz Osterwa, born Julian Andrzej Maluszek (Kraków, 23 June 1885 – 10 May 1947, Warsaw), was a renowned Polish actor, theatre director and art theoretician active in the interwar period. He was the founder of Theatre Reduta, the first experimental stage in Warsaw following Poland's return to independence at the end of World War One. Osterwa began his Warsaw career at the age of 33 by staging the works of Poland's revolutionary dramatists including Juliusz Słowacki, Stanisław Wyspiański, Stefan Żeromski, Jerzy Szaniawski, Kazimierz Przerwa-Tetmajer, and Cyprian Norwid.
