The Ivory Coast–Liberia border is 778 km (483 mi) in length and runs from the tripoint with Guinea in the north down to the Atlantic Ocean in the south. It separates the Liberian counties of Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Maryland and Nimba from the Ivorian districts of Montagnes and Bas-Sassandra. Description The border starts in the north on Mount Nuon in the Nimba Range, and after a very short overland sections reaches the Nuon river, which it follows southwards. It then briefly follows the Dain, Nimoi and Boan rivers, before reaching the Cavalla, which it follows in a broad right angled course out to the Atlantic. It ends 21 km east of the southernmost point of West Africa, Cape Palmas. Taï
Taï is a town in southwestern Ivory Coast. It is a sub-prefecture of and the seat of Taï Department in Cavally Region, Montagnes District. Taï is also a commune. The town is between Taï National Park and the Cavally River. The river—which is the border with Liberia—is less than two kilometres south of the town. Previously, Taï was a sub-prefecture of the Guiglo Department; Taï Department was created on 22 March 2013. Taï is the stronghold of two indigenous ethnic groups: Oubi and Dao. The Oubi are an ethnic group belonging to the group of Krou people. They are found in the commune of Taï and in ten villages south of it, such as the villages of Gouléako 1, Gouléako 2, Paulé-Oula, Diéré-Oula, Port-Gentil, Tiolé-Oula, Sakré and Ziriglo. French Guinea
French Guinea () was a French colonial possession in West Africa. Its borders, while changed over time, were in 1958 those of the current independent nation of Guinea. French Guinea was established by France in 1891, within the same borders as its previous colony known as Rivières du Sud (1882–1891).
