It's Understood
''It's Understood'' is Estradasphere's first studio album. It was released on Mimicry Records on June 26, 2000. The first track on the album, "Hunger Strike", sets the tone of Estradasphere by covering a wide range of musical genres. The song is just less than twenty minutes long and is the longest studio recording of an Estradasphere song. Tracks 6 through 9 are songs that form the four part composition titled "The Princes of Xibalba". Tracks 2 and 11 are not performed, but electronically sequenced by Tim Smolens and parody the music from popular video games such as Super Mario Bros. Track 12 was recorded at a violin recital for Estradasphere member Timb Harris. All other tracks were recorded at ROHYPONOL_Studios911 in 1999. Estradasphere was an American experimental band that originated in Santa Cruz, California, during the late 1990s. The band, which in its last incarnation was based in Seattle, consisted of six multi-instrumentalists from a variety of musical backgrounds trained in disciplines ranging from classical music and jazz to heavy metal. In November 2007, members of Estradasphere started touring with Amanda Palmer of The Dresden Dolls, as well as helping to produce her debut solo album '' Who Killed Amanda Palmer''. The band is on a "''permanent hiatus''" since 2010. Timba Harris (born September 21, 1977) is a violinist, violist, trumpet player, and composer. He is an active touring and recording member of Trey Spruance's Secret Chiefs 3, a founding member of the band Estradasphere, and one half of the electroacoustic chamber duo Probosci. His large ensemble works have been recorded for John Zorn's Tzadik Records, and his playing and orchestral arrangements can be found on recordings throughout the experimental rock world and on video games and film. John Whooley
John Whooley, now John Whoolilurie, is a California-based musician best known for playing the saxophone and other instruments with the band Estradasphere. In addition to performing, he also composed much of the band's music until he left the band to live in Joshua Tree, California. Whooley was also a member of the "jam supergroup" Santa Cruz Hemp Allstars, put together by Santa Cruz promoter -- Poco Marshall. Other side projects include Phree Radicals, Netwerk: Electric and his soloproject, Whoolilicious. With his wife Moriah-Melin, he formed the band MoJoW and the Vibration Army. When performing live, the Army uses electronic looping pedals to layer multiple instruments or vocals in real time. MoJoW toured Europe in the summer of 2005, and released their first album, Undivided, later that year. Didgeridoo
