It's My Life Tour
The It's My Life Tour was a concert tour by the Anglo-American hard rock band Tin Machine. The tour commenced on 5 October 1991 after two warm-up shows, one press show and three trade-industry shows, visiting twelve countries and concluding after seven months and sixty-nine performances, a larger outing than their first tour in 1989. Tour details The band rehearsed and warmed up for the tour in Dublin in August 1991. Joined onstage by guitarist Eric Schermerhorn, Tin Machine presented songs from the ''Tin Machine'' album and the ''Tin Machine II'' album, augmented with cover versions of songs from the Pixies, Neil Young and The Moody Blues. Tin Machine
Tin Machine were a British–American Rock music, rock band formed in 1988. The band consisted of English singer-songwriter David Bowie on lead vocals, saxophone and guitar; Reeves Gabrels on guitar and vocals; Tony Fox Sales on bass and vocals; and Hunt Sales on drums and vocals. The Sales brothers had previously performed with Bowie and Iggy Pop during the 1977 tour for ''The Idiot (album), The Idiot''. Hosted by Don Branker, the series was a showcase for bands of the era to be taped "in concert" and then broadcast on ABC on Friday nights. ''In Concert'' The series premiered on November 24, 1972, preempting ''The Dick Cavett Show''. The first episode was the broadcast of a concert taped at Hofstra University on November 2, 1972, with Alice Cooper, Bo Diddley, Curtis Mayfield, and Seals & Crofts. Bessie Banks
Bessie Banks (born February 8, 1938) is an American rhythm and blues and soul singer, best known for her original 1964 recording of "Go Now," successfully covered in the same year by UK band the Moody Blues. Life and career She was born Bessie White in New Bern, North Carolina, and later raised in Brooklyn, New York City. In the mid-1950s, she began singing with a quartet called Three Guys and a Doll. While a member of the group, she met singer Larry Banks; they married on stage at the Royal Theatre in Baltimore around 1955. She performed and recorded as Toni Banks during the mid-1950s, including the 1957 single "You're Still in My Heart", on which she was backed by the Four Fellows. In 1959, she and Larry recorded as members of the Companions, releasing a single "Why Oh Why Baby" on the Federal label. "Go Now" is a song composed by Larry Banks and Milton Bennett and first recorded by Bessie Banks, released as a single in January 1964. "Under the God" is the first official single released by Anglo-American hard rock band Tin Machine, taken from their Tin Machine (album), eponymous debut album in June 1989. Song information "Under the God", which came from a demo originally called "Night Train", was a song that excoriated Neo-Nazism. Although "Heaven's in Here" was actually the album's first single, it was only released promotionally, which made "Under the God" the first official single, released after the album was already available. Critical reception Jerry Smith, reviewer of British music newspaper ''Music Week'', reviewed the single positively, saying that it reminds him of Bowie's "Panic in Detroit" and expressed the assurance that it "should ignite the charts". Le Zénith
Le Zénith () is the name given to a series of indoor arenas in France. The first arena, the "Zénith Paris" is a rejuvenation of the Pavillon de Paris. In French culture, the word "zénith" has become synonymous with "theater". A zénith is a theater that can accommodate concert tours, variety shows, plays, musicals and dance recitals. All zeniths carry a similar internal design of an indoor amphitheater that can seat at least 3,000 spectators. A venue was planned to open in Saint-Denis, Réunion entitled Zénith du Port. The arena was proposed in 2005 by the city council. Planned to open in 2008 with a capacity of 6,000, the construction of the arena was shut down. It was determined the venue would not be profitable as there was no research done to see which events the arena could house.
