Ishëm Castle (Albanian:''Kalaja e Ishmit'') is a castle in Ishëm, Durrës County, Albania. It is located on a hill above the river Ishëm. It was built from 1572 to 1574 by Ottomans to stop the peasant rebellions.Kalaja e Ishmit

Ishëm (river)
The Ishëm (or Ishmi; ) is a river in western Albania, which brings water to the area north of the Albanian capital, Tirana. It forms part of a watercourse (Tiranë- Gjole-Ishëm), but only the lower third of the watercourse is known as the Ishëm. The Ishëm proper is formed at the confluence of the rivers Gjole and Zezë, a few km northwest of Fushë-Krujë. It flows into the Adriatic Sea near the town of Ishëm. Ibrahim Likmetaj Kodra (22 April 1918 – 7 February 2006) was an Albanian painter. Biography Kodra was born in Ishëm (Ishmi), Albania, son of Murat and Xhixhe.Biography

Ibrahim took art classes from Odhise Paskali during 1929, focusing on sport as well.
