Irish Stew Of Sindidun
Irish Stew of Sindidun (often referred to as Irish Stew only) is a Serbian Celtic rock band from Belgrade. While initially playing Irish folk music, the band later made a shift towards light punk rock, inspired by Irish folk music and other genres. Beside their own songs, the band performs covers of Irish traditional songs and songs by The Pogues. History 2000s The first ideas of forming an Irish folk band came up in 2002, when Bojan Petrović (lead vocals, tin whistles) and Nenad Gavrilov (acoustic guitar, backing vocals), both fans of Irish music, decided to start playing together. After several attempts, the band was officially formed in January 2003. At that time the band did not perform live and did not have a name, but a few months later, it got a name and new members. Orthodox Celts is a Serbian band (music), band formed in Belgrade in 1992 which plays Folk music of Ireland, Irish folk music combined with Rock music, rock elements. Despite their uncharacteristic genre in their home country, the band has been one of the top acts of the Serbian rock, Serbian rock scene since their formation, and has influenced a number of younger Serbian bands, most notably Irish Stew of Sindidun and Alfapop, Tir na n'Og. The band started their career performing traditional Irish songs and, gradually, introduced more and more of their own material (lyrics mostly written by the band's frontman Aleksandar "Aca Seltik" Petrović, music mostly written by band's violinist Ana Đokić). ''Dare To Dream'' is the second studio album by the Serbian Irish folk/Celtic rock band Irish Stew of Sindidun, released on Saint Patrick's Day in 2008. Having finished promoting their first album, the band started writing new material which was released in 2008. Belgrade Youth Center (; abbr. DOB) is a cultural center in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, dedicated primarily to youth. History At the corner of the ''Dečanska'' and ''Makedonska'' streets, where the youth center is today, was the location of the ''kafana'' "Ginić". One of the most popular kafanas in Belgrade in its heyday, it was a gathering point of the journalists and reporters from the Politika daily, which was located nearby.
