Irene Abrigo
Irene Abrigo (born 3 December 1988) is an Italian classical violinist. Education Abrigo started the violin at age 4 at the Aosta Suzuki School with Adriano Coluccio. At age 10 she continued her studies with Fabrizio Pavone and graduated at the Turin Conservatory at age 19. She moved then in Switzerland to study at the HEM Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève in the class of Marie-Annick Nicolas where she had her Master of Performance (2009–2011). She continued her studies with Pierre Amoyal in the HEMU Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne and Mozarteum Salzburg (2012–2014). She obtained the Pedagogy Master at the HKB Hoschule der Künste Bern in the class of Corina Belcea (2016–2018). Nicola Benedetti
Nicola Joy Nadia Benedetti (born 20 July 1987) is a Scottish classical solo violinist and festival director. Her ability was recognised when she was a child, including the award of BBC Young Musician of the Year when she was 16. She works with orchestras in Europe and America as well as with Alexei Grynyuk, her regular pianist. Since 2012, she has played the Gariel Stradivarius violin. In 2019, she founded the music education charity The Benedetti Foundation and became the first woman to lead the Edinburgh International Festival when she was made Festival Director on 1 October 2022. Gaetano Antoniazzi
Gaetano Antoniazzi (7 August 1825 – 1 August 1897) was an Italian violin-maker. Antoniazzi was born in Cremona, where he learned his craft in the Ceruti workshop before establishing himself in Milan in 1870 and bringing with him the Cremonese tradition of his teachers Enrico and Giovanni Battista Ceruti. He died in Milan. It is only from this date until about 1890 that we find instruments signed by him. Gaetano Antoniazzi, along with his sons Riccardo and Romeo trained Leandro Bisiach, and together with the Antoniazzis, Bisiach influenced the creation of a workshop environment that was to dominate early to middle 20th Century Italian violinmaking. GENUIN is an independent classical music label and remote classical music recording studio based in Leipzig, Germany. The term “genuin” comes from Latin and stands for “innate, authentic, not counterfeit.” History The company was founded in Detmold, Germany in 1998 as "GENUIN Musikproduktion" by sound engineers Holger Busse and Alfredo Lasheras Hakobian. Five years later, in January 2003, the "GENUIN" classical music label began distributing CDs throughout Germany, with most releases produced by its own recording engineers. In 2005, the company moved from Detmold to Leipzig as a result of which a fruitful collaboration with German broadcaster MDR and the famed Leipzig Gewandhaus resulted. Claves Records
Claves Records is a Swiss classical record label, which was founded in 1968 by Marguerite Dütschler-Hüber (1931–2006) in Thun. History Marguerite Dütschler-Hüber founded Claves with business partner Ursula Pfaehler when her piano teacher Jörg Ewald Dähler was unable to find a company willing to record and issue an LP of Bach preludes. The label specialised in Swiss music and artists such as flutist Peter-Lukas Graf and Lieder recitals by performers including Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Teresa Berganza and Ernst Haefliger. Claves also launched the recording career of María Bayo. Claves Records SA was formally founded in 1968. In 2004, the label was acquired by the Clara Haskil foundation and then by Olivier Verrey who runs the company with other board members. Hyung-ki Joo () is a Korean-British pianist, composer, comedian and one half of the comedy-musical duo Igudesman & Joo. Billy Joel chose Joo to arrange and record his classical piano pieces for the album '' Fantasies & Delusions''. It was recorded in the Mozart Hall of the Vienna Konzerthaus, and reached the No. 1 spot on the '' Billboard'' album chart for 18 weeks. Aleksey Igudesman
Aleksey Mikhailovich Igudesman (; born 22 February 1973) is a Russian-German violinist and composer. He performs in the comedy-musical duo Igudesman & Joo. Biography Igudesman was born in Leningrad, in what was then the Soviet Union, to a musical Jewish family. At the age of 6 he and his family immigrated to Germany. At the age of 12 he was accepted at the Yehudi Menuhin School in England. From 1989 to 1998 he studied violin with Boris Kuschnir at the Vienna Conservatory.
