International Ski Federation
The ''Fédération internationale de ski et de snowboard'' (FIS; en, International Ski and Snowboard Federation) is the highest international governing body for skiing and snowboarding. Founded on 2 February 1924 in Chamonix, France during the inaugural Winter Olympic Games, the FIS is responsible for the Olympic disciplines of Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, ski jumping, Nordic combined, freestyle skiing, and snowboarding. Iran sent a delegation to compete at the 2014 Winter Paralympics in Sochi, Russia from 7–16 March 2014. This was Iran's fifth time participating in a Winter Paralympic Games. Seyed Sattar Seid ( fa, سيد ستار صيد , born 26 November 1987 in Tehran) is an Iranian cross-country skiing (sport), cross-country skier who has competed since 2007. He finished 89th in the 15 km event at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Seid would later compete at the Winter Olympic in 2014 and 2018.
