Iran At The 2008 Summer Olympics
Iran sent a team to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China. In total 55 Iranian athletes went to Beijing, including three women. These Olympics are regarded as less successful than their previous Games, as Iran only achieved one gold and one bronze medal. Cycling At The 2008 Summer Olympics
Cycling competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics were held from August 9 to August 23 at the Laoshan Velodrome (track events), Laoshan Mountain Bike Course, Laoshan BMX Field and the Beijing Cycling Road Course. The event was dominated by the Great Britain team, who claimed 14 medals in total, including eight golds, seven of them from the ten events in the velodrome. This marked the beginning of a period of complete domination for Great Britain that would last to the 2020 Summer Olympics; The British team would claim 21 of the 30 gold medals awarded in the velodrome over the next three Games, 70% of all gold medals on offer. Sajjad Moradi
Sajjad Moradi (, born 30 March 1983) is an Iranian middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 m and 1500 m. He holds multiple national records for Iran from various track disciplines. Moradi is a gold-medalist in the Asian Games, Asian Athletics Championships, Asian Indoor Games, and Universiade. He also competed at three Summer Olympic Games in 2004, 2008, and 2012. Archery At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's Individual
The women's individual archery event at the 2008 Summer Olympics was part of the archery programme. It took place at the Olympic Green Archery Field. Ranking Round was on 9 August 2008. First and second elimination rounds took place on 12 August, and eights, quarterfinal, semifinals and medals matches were on 14 August. All archery was done at a range of 70 metres, with targets 1.22 metres in diameter.
