''Invitation'' is the debut album by alternative rock supergroup Filthy Friends; it was released on Kill Rock Stars in 2017. Reception Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic awarded the album four out of five stars, writing, "It's as fun as it's galvanizing, a record that draws strength from its casual nature." ''Pitchfork''s Alfred Soto gave the album a 6.5 out of 10, praising the performance but noting that the music, "depends on its lack of surprise... It is a good time, and not much more." Filthy Friends
Filthy Friends is an Alternative rock, alt-rock supergroup (music), supergroup based in Portland, Oregon. The band is fronted by Corin Tucker (of Sleater-Kinney) and guitarist Peter Buck (formerly of R.E.M. and Tired Pony). The other members of the band include alumni from bands such as the Minus 5, King Crimson, The Baseball Project and Steve Wynn (musician), Steve Wynn & the Miracle 3. History The band, with the tentative name of Super Earth, first convened in the studio in 2014. Francesca Sundsten (1960 – March 9, 2019) was an American painter. She applied traditional techniques while exploring elements of composition, palette, and minor abstractions of space and paint to create paintings and illustrations which were described by ''The Seattle Times'' as "calling to mind the Old Masters" with a "distinctly surrealist sensibility." Life and career Born in Hemet, California, Sundsten's family moved to the Seattle area when she was three. She began painting seriously in her early 20s, and enrolled at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1984. Mastering, a form of audio post production, is the process of preparing and transferring recorded audio from a source containing the final mix to a data storage device (the master), the source from which all copies will be produced (via methods such as pressing, duplication or replication). Bill Rieflin
William Frederick Rieflin (September 30, 1960 – March 24, 2020) was an American musician. Rieflin came to prominence in the 1990s mainly for his work as a drummer with groups (particularly in the industrial rock and industrial metal scenes) such as Ministry, the Revolting Cocks, Lard, KMFDM, Pigface, Swans, Chris Connelly, and Nine Inch Nails. He worked regularly with R.E.M. following the retirement of Bill Berry in 1997. He was a member of King Crimson from 2013 until his death in 2020. Career Rieflin was born on September 30, 1960 (some sources say September 29) and began his professional career in his hometown of Seattle. Krist Anthony Novoselic (; ; born May 16, 1965) is an American musician and activist. He was the bassist and co-founder of the rock band Nirvana. Novoselic and Kurt Cobain formed the band Nirvana in 1987 along with drummer Aaron Burckhard, whom they recruited.
