Introduction To Mayhem
''Introduction to Mayhem'' is the major label debut album by the American nu metal band Primer 55. Released on January 25, 2000, it is a reissue of the band's 1999 EP ''As Seen on TV''. Much of the tracks were remixed to sound drastically different from the original EP versions, including the addition of the new hip hop instrumentation. Several bonus tracks were also added, and tracks that appeared on the original EP were deleted. ''Introduction to Mayhem'' was the band's first release on a major label. (həd) Planet Earth frontman Jared Gomes makes a guest appearance rapping on one of the new songs. Four of the songs also featured scratching from DJ Chris Kilmore of Incubus, including on the single "Loose". Primer 55
Primer 55 is an American nu metal band which formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997. The name originated from the combination of Primer, meaning "something that's unfinished", and 55, which refers to Interstate 55, "the road that drugs run on to get to Chicago through Memphis". To date, Primer 55 has released two studio albums: ''Introduction to Mayhem'' (2000) and ''(The) New Release'' (2001). After disbanding for the first time in 2003 and reuniting from 2007 to 2015, the band announced another reunion in June 2025. Hed PE (standing for ''Higher Education Planet Earth/Planetary Evolution'', typeset as (həd)p.e., (hed) Planet Earth, (Hed)pe or (Hed)PE) is an American rock band from Huntington Beach, California. Formed in 1994, the band is known for its eclectic genre-crossing style, predominately in the fusion of gangsta rap and punk rock it has termed "G-punk", but also for its reggae-fused music. Hip Hop
Hip-hop or hip hop (originally disco rap) is a popular music genre that emerged in the early 1970s from the African-American community of New York City. The style is characterized by its synthesis of a wide range of musical techniques. Hip-hop includes rapping often enough that the terms can be used synonymously. Insane Clown Posse, often abbreviated as ICP, is an American hip hop duo. Erik Francis Schrody (born August 18, 1969), known by his stage names Everlast and Whitey Ford, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who was the frontman for hip hop group House of Pain. His breakthrough as a solo artist came in 1998 with his album '' Whitey Ford Sings the Blues'', which blended rock and hip-hop and garnered him his first Grammy Award nomination for the song "What It's Like". Helmet is an American alternative metal band from New York City formed in 1989 by vocalist and lead guitarist Page Hamilton. Helmet has had numerous lineup changes with Hamilton as the only constant member. Since 2010, the band has consisted of Hamilton, drummer Kyle Stevenson, guitarist Dan Beeman and bassist Dave Case. Helmet has released nine studio albums and two compilation albums.
