Laura Fygi
Laura Fygi (born 27 August 1955) is a Dutch jazz singer. Fygi's father was a Dutch businessman, a director of Philips, and her mother an Egyptian belly dancer. She was raised in Uruguay, until her father's death in the late 1960s, when she moved back to the Netherlands with her mother. She was then under the care of a French-speaking governess before being adopted by the principal of her school. During the 1980s, she was a member of Centerfold (group), Centerfold, an all-female Dutch disco band which was popular in the Europe and Japan. In the early 1990s, she began a solo career and recorded her debut album with Toots Thielemans. During her career, she has worked with Johnny Griffin, Michel Legrand, Clark Terry and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and considers Julie London one of her influences. Bombay Rockers
Bombay Rockers is a Danish musical duo popular in India. Their debut album, ''Introducing'', has gone five times Platinum, with sales of over 100,000 records. History In 2003, Danish-Indian singer Navtej Singh Rehal (Naf) was introduced to the production duo known as WCA, which consisted of Thomas Sardorf and Janus Barnewitz. They jammed together and eventually formed the band Bombay Rockers, with Naf providing Punjabi and Hindi vocals and Sardorf singing in English. Barnewitz worked with the duo on production as well as initially managing the band. Their first collaboration, "Ari Ari", got significant airplay in Denmark. In July 2003, Bombay Rockers went onstage with the EDM duo Filur at Roskilde Festival, in front of roughly 25,000 people. It was released exclusively in Scandinavian countries on 21 January 2013, by TEN Music Group and Universal Music Group Universal Music Group N.V. Ricky Fanté
Ricky Andrew Fanté (born November 4, 1970) is an American rhythm and blues singer, sound engineer, and songwriter. Career After serving in the United States Marine Corps for a few years after high school, a demo of his two-man group, produced by his partner ex-rocker Scott Rickett called Soul Surfing, fell into the hands of A&R executive Josh Deutsch, which led to a development deal in 2001. In 2002, Fanté met with Norah Jones's collaborator Jesse Harris, and began co-writing and recording his debut record. Fanté was then signed by Virgin Records and released '' Rewind'' in July 2004. Fanté gained critical acclaim for the song " It Ain’t Easy". He performed the single on NBC’s long-running late night talk and variety show '' The Tonight Show with Jay Leno''. BBC Music Introducing is BBC Radio's platform supporting unsigned, undiscovered, and under-the-radar UK music talent. The backbone of that network consists of 32 BBC local radio shows on stations across England and the Channel Islands, various network shows in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, which also give artists the opportunity to be played nationally on Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, 6 Music and Asian Network, as well as playing Introducing stages at festivals such as Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, South by Southwest, Latitude Festival and BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend.
