Into The Wild (soundtrack)
''Into the Wild'' is the debut solo studio album by Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder, and is based on his contributions to the soundtrack for the Into the Wild (film), film of the same name. It was released on September 18, 2007, through J Records. Background Director Sean Penn handpicked Vedder to provide the music for the film. Previously, Vedder had contributed two songs to the Dead Man Walking (soundtrack), soundtrack for the 1995 film ''Dead Man Walking (film), Dead Man Walking'' and a cover of the Beatles' "You've Got to Hide Your Love Away" to the I Am Sam (soundtrack), soundtrack for the 2001 film ''I Am Sam'', both of which starred Penn. I Am Sam
''I Am Sam'' (stylized in all lowercase) is a 2001 American drama film co-written and directed by Jessie Nelson. It stars Sean Penn, Michelle Pfeiffer, Dianne Wiest, Dakota Fanning, Richard Schiff, Loretta Devine and Laura Dern. Indio is the stage name for Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Peterson who released one album, ''Big Harvest'' in 1989, which includes the top 10 hit "Hard Sun." History Gordon Peterson grew up in Dundas; a constituent community in the City of Hamilton in Ontario, Canada. The name Indio came to him while recording the second half of the album ''Big Harvest'' in California with Larry Klein.
