Interventions Of Political Parties In Venezuela
Several interventions of political parties in Venezuela have occurred during Nicolás Maduro's government. The interventions are mandated by the pro-government Venezuelan Supreme Tribunal of Justice (Venezuela), Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ by its initials in Spanish). During these interventions, the leadership or most of the political party members end up suspended, expelled or replaced by members appointed by the TSJ. The interventions have replaced the directive boards of historically important Venezuelan political parties like Copei and Democratic Action (Venezuela), Democratic Action who have opposed Chavismo, but also interventions have been acted on some pro-Chavismo leaning parties like the Communist Party of Venezuela (PCV). Tarek William Saab Halabi (, ar, طارق وليام صعب حلبي; born 10 September 1962) is a Venezuelan politician, lawyer and poet. He is a leader of the Fifth Republic Movement (MVR) party founded by Hugo Chávez, President of Venezuela, who publicly called him "The Revolution's Poet". He was the Governor of Anzoátegui from 2004 to 2012, and a member of the Committee for Justice and Truth since 2013. In December 2014, he was elected "People's Defender", or Ombudsman, by the National Assembly for 2014–2021 term. José Dionisio Brito Rodríguez (born 15 January 1973) is a Venezuelan administrator and politician who serves as a deputy to the National Assembly and former member of Justice First party. Biography Brito studied Business Administration at the Simón Rodríguez National Experimental University (UNESR). He was a member of the Movement for Socialism (MAS) party, and then joined the Podemos party. The Justice First ( es, Primero Justicia) is a centre-right political party in Venezuela. Founded in 1992 as a civil association, it became a political party in 2000. Henrique Capriles was the candidate of the party in 2013 general election. Democratic Unity Roundtable
The Democratic Unity Roundtable ( es, Mesa de la Unidad Democrática, MUD) was a catch-all electoral coalition of Venezuelan political parties formed in January 2008 to unify the opposition to President Hugo Chávez's United Socialist Party of Venezuela in the 2010 Venezuelan parliamentary election. A previous opposition umbrella group, the '' Coordinadora Democrática'', had collapsed after the failure of the 2004 Venezuelan recall referendum. The coalition was made of primarily centrist and centre-left parties. The main components were Democratic Action and Copei, the two parties who dominated Venezuelan politics from 1959 to 1999.
