She investigates nanomaterials using transmission electron microscopy, including two-dimensional materials such as graphene. Nancy Sottos is an American materials scientist and professor of engineering. She is the Swanlund Endowed Chair and the head of the department of materials science and engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.
