Interiors (Quicksand Album)
''Interiors'' is the third album by American post-hardcore band Quicksand, released on November 10, 2017. It is the band's first studio album since ''Manic Compression'' (1995), and their first release on Epitaph Records. History Quicksand first disbanded in October 1995, about eight months after the release of ''Manic Compression'', because of internal conflicts. However, the band reunited in 1997, and spent most of the following year writing new material and embarking on their first tour in three years. In August 1998, they entered Carriage House Studios in Stamford, Connecticut with producer Steven Haigler to begin recording their third album. After touring North America with Deftones and Snapcase from September to November 1998, Quicksand returned to the studio to continue working on the follow-up ''Manic Compression''; despite a successful tour and a more collaborative effort in the writing process, resurfaced tensions would eventually split up the band indefinitely in late ...

Quicksand (American Band)
Quicksand is an American post-hardcore band from New York City, founded in 1990. Their debut self-titled EP was followed by two major-label albums, '' Slip'' (1993) and ''Manic Compression'' (1995). Quicksand's sound has been compared to that of post-hardcore bands Fugazi and Helmet. The band supported their releases with extensive touring but fell short of the mainstream success anticipated by their labels. These factors and internal stress led them to separate first in 1995 and again in 1999 following a failed year-and-a-half reunion. In June 2012, Quicksand reunited for a special one-night performance and since has been playing additional live shows. The band's third album (and first full-length in 22 years), ''Interiors'', was released on November 10, 2017, and it was followed four years later by their latest album '' Distant Populations'' (2021). Quicksand has cited various bands as influences, including Fugazi, Jane's Addiction, Helmet, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, ...

Quicksand (band) Albums
Quicksand (also known as sinking sand) is a colloid consisting of fine granular material (such as sand, silt or clay) and water. It forms in saturated loose sand when the sand is suddenly agitated. When water in the sand cannot escape, it creates a liquefied soil that loses strength and cannot support weight. Quicksand can form in standing water or in upward flowing water (as from an artesian spring). In the case of upward-flowing water, forces oppose the force of gravity and suspend the soil particle. The cushioning of water gives quicksand, and other liquefied sediments, a spongy, fluid-like texture. In accordance with Archimedes' principle, objects in liquefied sand sink to the level at which the weight of the object is equal to the weight of the displaced soil/water mix and the submerged object floats due to its buoyancy. Soil liquefaction may occur in partially saturated soil when it is shaken by an earthquake or similar forces. The movement combined with an increase in ...

Deftones
Deftones is an American alternative metal band formed in Sacramento, California in 1988. They were formed by frontman Chino Moreno, lead guitarist Stephen Carpenter and drummer Abe Cunningham, with bassist Chi Cheng and keyboardist and turntablist Frank Delgado joining the line-up in 1990 and 1999, respectively. The band's experimental nature has led some critics to describe them as "the Radiohead of metal". After the line-up settled in 1993, the band secured a recording contract with Maverick Records, and subsequently released their debut album ''Adrenaline'' in 1995. Extensive touring and word-of-mouth promotion of the album helped Deftones garner a dedicated fan base. Post-hardcore
Post-hardcore is a punk rock music genre that maintains the aggression and intensity of hardcore punk but emphasizes a greater degree of creative expression. Like the term " post-punk", the term "post-hardcore" has been applied to a broad constellation of groups. Initially taking inspiration from post-punk and noise rock, post-hardcore began in the 1980s with bands like Hüsker Dü and Minutemen. The genre expanded in the 1980s and 1990s with releases by bands from cities which had established hardcore scenes, such as Fugazi from Washington, D.C. as well as groups such as Big Black, Jawbox, Quicksand, and Shellac who stuck closer to post-hardcore's noise rock roots. Dischord Records became a major nexus of post-hardcore during this period. The genre also began to incorporate more dense, complex, and atmospheric instrumentals with bands like Slint and Unwound, and also experienced some crossover from indie rock with bands like The Dismemberment Plan. In the early- an ...
