Institute Of Nuclear Energy Research
The National Atomic Research Institute (NARI) is an administrative corporation reorganized from the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER) and supervised by the Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC) of Taiwan (ROC). INER, the predecessor of NARI, was one of the agencies included in the government reform in 2023. It has been transformed from a government agency into an administrative corporation since September 27. It is dedicated to the research and development of technologies on nuclear safety, radiation application, and new energy. Targeting nuclear safety, nuclear back-end, nuclear medicine and other radiation applications for people's livelihood, new energy and cross-field system integration as the main development axes of its mission, NARI endeavors to help realizing a low-carbon society so as to improve people's livelihood and well-being. Nuclear Safety Commission (Taiwan)
The Nuclear Safety Commission (NSC; ) is an independent government agency of the Executive Yuan of the Republic of China (Taiwan) which is responsible for atomic safety, development and regulations. It also conducts research and development into atomic technologies. It is affiliated with IAEA by special agreements to safeguard the peaceful development of the nuclear energy by the Republic of China government. History The agency was created in 1955 as the Atomic Energy Council by the Executive Yuan. Since then, it has assisted industry in developing nuclear power for commercial use and allowed universities to conduct research into atomic energy. The Executive Yuan () is the executive (government), executive branch of the government of the Republic of China (Taiwan).
