The Institute of Islamic Culture is an independent non-governmental institute and publishing house of Islamic studies in Lahore, Pakistan. It was established in Lahore in 1950 for the purpose of conducting scientific and research studies on various aspects of Islamic civilization and culture. Khalifa Abdul Hakeem
Khalifa Abdul Hakeem (1 July 1893 – 30 January 1959) was a Pakistani philosopher, poet, critic, researcher, philologist, translator, and former professor of philosophy at Osmania University. He was the former director of Islamic Culture Institute, Lahore. Biography Family background Khalifa belonged to the Lahori branch of the Dar family. The name was Abdul Hakeem, while Khalifa was used in the Kashmiri Dar family for a scholar or an able man, about which Munshi Muhammad Din Fauq wrote that: In the beginning, pashmina and duri baghi work was done frequently in this family and a fair number of people regularly acquired this art from this family. The elders of the family came to be called by the name of Khalifa, meaning teacher. Islamic Studies
Islamic studies is the academic study of Islam, which is analogous to related fields such as Jewish studies and Quranic studies. Islamic studies seeks to understand the past and the potential future of the Islamic world. In this multidisciplinary program, scholars from diverse areas (history, culture, literature, art) participate and exchange ideas pertaining to the particular field of study. Generations of scholars in Islamic studies, most of whom studied with Orientalist mentors, helped bridge the gap between Orientalism and Religious studies. The subfield that grew out of this effort is called "Islamic studies." Muhammad Ishaq Bhatti
Muhammad Ishaq Bhatti ( 15 March 1925 – 22 December 2015) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar and historian. A leading figure of Ahl-i Hadith in South Asia, Bhatti was born in Kotkapura in Faridkot State and migrated to Pakistan in 1947 after the partition of India. Biography Muhammad Ishaq Bhatti was born on 15 March 1925 in Kotkapura in the state of Faridkot (present day Faridkot, Punjab) into a Bhatti family. His father, Abdul Majid Bhatti was a religious person. Ishaq Bhatti learnt Quran at home from his grandfather. In 1947, Bhatti moved to Pakistan from India with his family. Muhammad Rafiuddin
Muhammad Rafiuddin (1904 – 1969) was a Pakistani philosopher, researcher, educationist, and Iqbalist. He authored several books on philosophy, education, and Iqbaliat. Early life and education Rafiuddin was born in Jammu, British India, on 1 January 1904. He received his intermediate education in science and did honours in Persian. He earned a master's degree in Arabic in 1929. In 1949, he earned his Ph.D. degree in philosophy and in 1965, his Doctor of Literature in educational philosophy. Career Rafiuddin began his career by teaching Arabic and Persian at Sri Pratap College in Srinagar from 1929 to 1932 and at Prince of Wales College in Jammu from 1933 to 1946, where he also wrote the highly regarded book ''Ideology of the Future''.
