Institute Of History Belgrade
The Institute of History (Serbian: Istorijski Institut) is a Serbian historical society dedicated to historical research covering the Middle Ages to the establishment of the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes in 1918. The institute was founded on 15 July 1947, in Belgrade, under the director Viktor Novak, and deputy director of Georgy Ostrogorski. The institute was part of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts until 1961, when it became independent. Tibor Živković
Tibor Živković ( sr-cyr, Тибор Живковић; 11 March 1966 – 26 March 2013) was a reputable Serbian academic, historian and Byzantinist who specialised in the period of the Early Middle Ages. Biography Živković was born in Mostar, and history studied at the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Belgrade between 1985–90, when he graduated at the Department of Antiquity. He received his MA in 1996 with a thesis ''slavizacija na teritoriju Srbije VII-XI stoljeća'' (Slavicization on the territory of Serbia 7th–11th centuries). He received his PhD in 2000 with a dissertation ''Slavs under Byzantine rule from the 7th to 11th Centuries (until 1025'').
